Town of Lincoln Provides Update Regarding Network Incident
The Town of Lincoln recently identified an issue affecting portions of its computer network and certain Town systems.
Upon discovering the issue, the Town immediately took steps to secure its network and began working with outside cybersecurity and computer forensic specialists to investigate the nature and extent of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing. At this time, the Town is also working carefully to restore affected systems in a secure manner and return all municipal services to normal operation as quickly as possible.
Some Town services may experience temporary interruptions while this work continues. Town employees are utilizing available alternative procedures and workarounds wherever possible to continue serving residents.
At this stage of the investigation, the Town is still determining what data, if any, may have been affected. If the investigation determines that information requiring notification was accessed or acquired without authorization, the Town will take the appropriate steps to notify and assist affected individuals.
We understand the inconvenience that interruptions in Town services may cause and appreciate the patience and understanding of Lincoln residents while this work continues.
Because the investigation is active, the Town is unable to provide additional details regarding the nature of the incident at this time. Additional information will be provided when appropriate and when facts have been confirmed.

Public Notice – The Town Office will Reopen Tuesday August 18th at 8:30am with limited services.

The Town office will be opening at 8:30am on Tuesday August 18th with limited services, we are still in the process of recovering from the Cybersecurity event.

We are able to register vehicles, issue hunting and fishing licenses, take payments for taxes, and look up information of some properties.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of our residents while our IT professionals work through the ongoing recovery process.

Nomination papers will are now available at the Town Office for the following positions to be elected at the November 3, 2026 General and Municipal Election.

(2) Two – Three Year Terms for Town Council
(2) Two -Three Year Terms for RSU No. 67 School Board
(1) One- Two Year Term for RSU No. 67 School Board
(2) Two- One Year Terms for RSU No. 67 School Board
(2) Two- Three Year Terms for Lincoln Sanitary District

Interested Lincoln Residents taking out papers must collect at least 25 signatures of Registered Lincoln Voters and return them no later than September 4, 2026 by 5:00 PM.
