TREC had a great time participating in Kids Day Out at the Osage County Fair on Friday, where Joe Schmitz was on hand with the electric table, giving kids a hands-on look at how electricity works and how to stay safe around it. Kids also had the opportunity to try on lineman gear and experience some of the equipment our crews use in the field. Each child went home with their own copy of Cat and Duck and the Electric Cooperative to continue learning about electric safety and how electric cooperatives work, strengthening the connection between the cooperative and the members we serve through education and community engagement.

This week and last, TREC and neighboring electric cooperatives visited Camp Clover to give campers a hands-on learning experience they will not forget, building their very own extension cords.

From curious questions to focused teamwork, campers got the chance to explore how something we use every day is made and see electrical concepts come to life right in front of them.
