Ground conditions are dry. While Ransom County doesn't have a burn ban in place please exercise caution when burning. The Fire Department responded to a controlled burn that got away last week.

Through the support of Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Community Investment grant, the Lisbon Fire Department was able to make some investments to improve our capabilities when called upon to better protect and service our members.

Through the support of the Pembina Pipeline we were able to replace & add to our hazards gas monitors, expanding our ability to monitor air quality situations, identify risks & through the addition of two gas sniffers, help pinpoint causes when the situation allows us to.

We were also able to purchase headsets that connect to our radios, allow for improved communications in loud / noisy environments in and around incidents.

And, we were able to add to our drone capabilities through the purchase of another drone remote, allowing one operator to focus on the flying mission, and another on the imaging mission and, not shown, but very important, the addition of a drop hook attachment for our drone, allowing us to drop needed supplies or communication equipment in a missing person situation.

Earlier in July the Lisbon Fire Department had the opportunity to utilize it's drone as part of an incident, which gave the department some much needed real world experience. Despite countless training flights by our certified pilots, it's hard to replicate real life incident experience.

In addition to the drone & the remote that shows the video, the FD invested in 2 TV's that are mounted inside our incident trailer that have a live feed from the drone's remote, allowing multiple people to watch the drone feed for any points of interest
