WLA Sawtelle Neighborhood Council We advocate the interests of all stakeholders in Sawtelle. https://linktr.ee/wlasnc If you are a community member, you are encouraged to participate.

The objectives of the WLANC are:

1.To offer a forum for the discussion and review of issues and projects of interest to the "West Los Angeles Neighborhood".
2.To offer a forum to engage all West Los Angeles stakeholders to collaborate and deliberate on matters affecting this community.
3.To assist and serve as an advisory body to government agencies on issues relating to the West Los Angeles N

eighborhood.
4.To monitor the delivery of city services and to make recommendations to the Los Angeles City Council regarding budgetary issues.
5.Not to interfere with the internal affairs of any individual, group or organization.
6.To remain non-partisan. The boundaries of the West Los Angeles Neighborhood Council are defined as:
- Wilshire Boulevard to the North,
- the 10 freeway to the South,
- the 405 freeway to the East, and
- the City of Santa Monica/Centinela Avenue to the West.

EmpowerLA is Hiring!

EmpowerLA is hiring an Election Assistant for the upcoming Neighborhood Council election season! This temporary, as-needed position will support EmpowerLA with awareness and engagement initiatives to promote the Neighborhood Council system and the Neighborhood Council elections process.

EmpowerLA hopes to staff this role from October 2026 through February 2027, with a minimum of 10 hours per week. The Election Assistant may be required to attend in-person meetings, events, and/or other EmpowerLA, Neighborhood Council, and/or City of Los Angeles activities, though there will be an opportunity for remote work opportunities.

The ideal candidate for this role will come with a passion for civic and community engagement, graphic design and social media know-how, and strong communication skills. Experience with digital and email marketing platforms, the Neighborhood Council system, local government, electoral campaigns, and/or grassroots organizing is highly preferred.

Selected candidates will be expected to comply with EmpowerLA’s brand and style guide policies, including the prohibition of AI-generated visuals, graphics, or written copy in externally facing materials. Metro is looking for individuals who regularly ride the Metro, are experts in their field of racial justice, equitable transit, public safety reform, law enforcement, victims’ rights, mental health, homelessness, and/or social service, and are committed to supporting the agency in taking a holistic, equitable, dignified, and welcoming approach to public safety.

Office of the City Clerk is Hiring Neighborhood Council Elections Poll Workers


The City of Los Angeles invites stakeholders to participate in the Neighborhood Council Elections by serving as an elections poll worker!

Poll workers must be 18 years of age by the date of the Election Day(s) they are supporting, be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing), have access to reliable transportation to and from the polling location(s), and be available to work the entire Election Day(s) they apply for. Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
Poll worker assignments will be based on operational needs, including, but not limited to, the expected voter turnout, election complexity, and language needs.
Please note that Neighborhood Council candidates or their families cannot serve as poll workers in the candidate’s Neighborhood Council boundaries. Candidates are welcome to serve as a poll worker in other Neighborhood Councils within the City.

Applications must be received no later than 30 days prior to the Election Day(s) you are applying for.
