Together with Renee Pea, the Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Los Angeles, he attended the 75th annual Croatian picnic organized by St. Anthony Croatian Catholic Church. He also met with representatives of Croatian clubs and associations—including Frane Jerković (President of the Croatian Hall in San Pedro), Jack Baric, the "LA Vatreni" group, and Heidi Wolfhart Granić (representing St. Anthony’s Parish and the "Croatia" folklore group)—to discuss the preservation of Croatian identity in Los Angeles and how the Office’s projects and programs can contribute to this effort.

During the picnic, a swearing-in ceremony for 67 new Croatian citizens took place, and the State Secretary also attended Holy Mass at St. Anthony’s Parish, celebrated by Reverend Grbavac.

The visit concluded with a lunch at the Dalmatian-American Club in San Pedro—hosted by Club President Rudy Svorinich, to whom we extend our gratitude —featuring a discussion on the Club’s activities as well as the programs and projects of the Central State Office for Croats Abroad.

🇭🇷 A sense of unity and an enduring connection with the Homeland remain at the heart of cooperation with Croats abroad.

We will never forget..

On the morning of September 11, 2001, the sky was peaceful.

It was an ordinary morning. People went to work, children went to school, families began another day. No one knew how profoundly that morning would change the world.

The attacks took thousands of lives and left countless families without fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, and loved ones. First responders gave their lives trying to save others. And for millions more, that day changed the way we understood peace and security—something once taken for granted.

Twenty-five years later, we remember those who never came home, those who ran toward danger, and all those whose lives were forever changed.

We remember the people.
We remember the day.
We remember the sky.
