As we celebrate St. John Center’s 40th anniversary, we’re reflecting on the investments that have strengthened our ability to help people move from homelessness toward housing.

Through a $117,000 Partnership Grant, St. John Center was able to support a Client Engagement Specialist at our Day Shelter—a role centered on helping guests overcome the practical barriers that can stand between homelessness and housing.

From helping guests obtain IDs and birth certificates to supporting housing readiness, strategic referrals, onsite partnerships, and resource navigation, this work helps people take important steps toward stability.

The resources and systems available to our guests have evolved over the years, but the heart of the work hasn’t changed. Forty years later, we’re still helping people navigate barriers, connect to resources, and move toward home.
