Statement from the Washington County Democratic Committee:
The Washington County Democratic Committee remains committed to a fair, transparent, and locally driven Democratic primary process in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District. Our committees and volunteers work year-round to strengthen the party, support Democratic campaigns, engage voters, and ensure every candidate has a fair opportunity to reach Washington County voters without the committee putting its own thumb on the scale.

We believe candidates should earn support through their ideas, their work, and their connection to the people of Maine—not through outside influence. Free and fair elections depend on voters making their own decisions, and Mainers value local leadership and independent decision-making.

No matter who wins the primary, our focus remains the same: uniting behind Democratic nominees, electing Democrats up and down the ballot, and fighting for the people of Washington County and all of Maine.
