What does good employment and benefits support actually look like?

It means listening first. Explaining complicated information clearly. Finding a different approach when something isn’t working. And bringing the right people together to help someone move toward their goals.

In our latest blog, ERI staff share real examples of what person-centered support can look like and why it matters.

This July, we join communities across the country in celebrating Disability Pride Month and recognizing the many contributions people with disabilities make every day.

This year's theme, "The World Works Better With Us," reminds us that when people with disabilities have equal opportunities to participate and contribute, everyone benefits.

More than 1 in 4 U.S. adults live with a disability. Disability Pride Month is a time to celebrate disability identity and culture, reflect on the progress made since the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed on July 26, 1990, and recommit ourselves to building communities where everyone belongs.

Features many of us use every day—like curb cuts, closed captions, audiobooks, and voice-to-text—began as solutions to remove barriers. This continues to demonstrate an important truth: when we design for everyone, all of us benefit.

We're proud to support employment, independence, and full community participation for people with disabilities throughout Wisconsin and beyond.
