Are you exploring your available educational or vocational trainings to achieve your career or personal goals? Or are you a service member newly transitioning to the civilian workforce and looking for some assistance where to begin?

WDVA can help! We have veteran benefits specialists that can assist veterans and eligible family members with accessing the right education benefits and programs. Those benefits include access to use for eligible vocational training programs and apprenticeships. We can help talk you through your options, help determine your eligibility, and give you the information you need to make the best choices for you and your family.

​The State of Wisconsin proudly leads the nation in providing education benefits to those who have served and their family members. We provide a number of educational programs for state veterans in addition to any federal Veterans' educational benefits that may be available.

The 2026 Anna Mae Robertson Veteran Legacy Award is an opportunity to recognize an exceptional veteran, but we need you to help us find them.

Let’s Go Hiking: Hike #3!

We’re headed back to the trail for Pathways & Purpose, the third adventure in our Women Veterans Explore Wisconsin fall hiking series!

When: Wednesday, September 30
Time: 10:00 AM
Where: Lapham PeKu NIT – Kettle Moraine State Forest (Homestead Parking lot)
Address: Ice Age Trl, Delafield Town, WI

Whether you’ve joined us for the first two hikes or have been waiting for the right week to jump in, you can join us at any point in the series!

HOW TO FIND US:
When you arrive, look for the vehicle with the Women Veterans – Let’s Go Hiking! sign and purple balloons. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so we can gather before hitting the trail together.

Wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes
Bring water
Dress for the weather
Family-friendly, so bring the kiddos!

💜All hiking experience levels are welcome!

Registration is not required but appreciated. And remember, you don’t have to participate in all eight hikes. Join us for one, a few, or all eight!

Today is Gold Star Mothers and Families Day. Please join WDVA as we give solemn remembrance for our nation's service members, and their families, who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our nation.

On June 23, 1936, the 74th United States Congress designated the last Sunday of September as Gold Star Mother’s Day. The day has since been appropriately updated to honor their families as well.

To celebrate Veterans Day, Aspen Dental has reserved one special Saturday, November 7th. A tradition since 2014, at select Aspen Dental offices throughout the nation, they'll provide veterans with much-needed dental care. At no cost to the veteran.

This week’s focuses on one of Wisconsin’s important veteran benefits, our three state Veterans Homes. WDVA believes that caring for veterans and their families is an honor, and we work hard to provide an enjoyable place to live with top-notch 24-hour skilled nursing care. Comprised of hundreds of devoted employees and volunteers, the WDVA’s Veterans Homes at Chippewa Falls, King, and Union Grove have provided our nation’s heroes a place to call home for many years.

Currently, we’re on an upswing at the homes bouncing back from the tough days of Covid. We’ve had incredible feedback from family and residents, recent positive surveys from regulators, and a growing census at our Homes in King and Union Grove.

Want to know more? We encourage you to visit our homes, meet our skilled care staff, and take a tour of our excellent facilities. Also, you can ‘like’ and follow each of our homes on social media to stay up-to-date about the great people working there and the fun activities the homes regularly have planned for our members.
