Please join us for a talk and book signing with bestselling author Alison Mariella Désir on Monday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. in Fireside Commons. The event will be held at 2pm in the Library's Fireside Commons. Join us in celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month by exploring our new “Indigenous Futurisms” display. Indigenous Futurisms is a cultural movement in literature, visual art, film, games, and digital media that centers Indigenous voices and perspectives to imagine alternative futures, re-examine the past, and challenge colonial narratives. It celebrates Indigenous cultures, ancestral knowledge, and languages by reclaiming agency over storytelling, identity, and technology, often advocating for environmental stewardship, cultural continuity, sovereignty, and social justice.
