A Red Flag Warning is in effect today through Friday for western and central North Dakota. Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for western and most of central North Dakota late this morning through this evening. Be sure to avoid any outdoor activities with open flames or sparks and follow local burn restrictions.

MRFD is seeking dedicated individuals to add to the team.
-Must have valid drivers license and be at least 18 years of age.
-Meeting/trainings 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.
-No experience needed. Department provides training for required certifications.
-Responds on average to 100 fire/rescue calls through out a 725 square mile area.

Good afternoon everyone! We're glad it's warm out, and we know many are looking forward to the later sunsets coming, even if tonight's time change isn't fun. We have two requests, though: 1) If you've burned pits or anything else the last few weeks when it was colder, give them some extra checks today and tomorrow, and call us if you have any rekindles you need help with, and 2) When you change those clocks, change the batteries on those smoke detectors, too!

FYI…With 7+ inches of rain we have been blessed with, it may be a good idea to check on your haystacks. We have had some conversations about some hot spots.
