The Summer Reading Program Kickoff started with a Magic Show and ended with snocones, face painting, touring and touching fire trucks 🚒, ambulances, and more! We had some great fun and more than 100 children and adults registered to participate in the Summer Reading Program. 🙌🏽 Can you imagine the incredible impact of that many children reading and improving their literacy over summer break?! Thank you to the 200 people who attended Friday’s festivities.

We are incredibly grateful to the following partners for this special event: Town of Many, Central Sabine Fire Department, Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department, Acadian Ambulance, DNA Audio Entertainment, and Lewing’s Snowballs. 🍧 Also thanks to local author Caitlyn Akers for being there with her new children’s book, “Summer in the South,” which is now available in all Sabine libraries! 📕

It was a full day of fun at the Toledo Branch library!
The Toledo branch, usually open 12-5, was open all day today to kick off the Summer Reading Program. Patrons enjoyed Deja Brew coffee truck, free donuts, prize drawings, games, and more. Thirty-four people registered for the Summer Reading Program that begins next week! Toledo’s summer program is for all kids and teens on Thursdays at 3 pm.

Tomorrow is the day! Summer Reading is here, and we are so excited to celebrate with you!💛

Join us at 10 AM at the Sabine Community Center for a magical kickoff with our very special guest, Mitch the Magician! ✨🎩

After the show, walk over with us to the Library for free snow cones, Community Heroes, face painting, DNA-AUDIO Entertainment, and a special visit from Caitlyn Akers featuring her new book, “Summer in the South”! 📚☀️🐊

We can’t wait to kick off an amazing summer of reading and fun with all of you!🥳
