Foster care and adoption - Buckner provides the training and resources needed to become a family to a child for a season through foster care or a forever family through domestic foster care or adoption. Children in these programs are most often referred through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services due to experiencing abuse, neglect or abandonment. We also respond to mothers exper

iencing an unplanned pregnancy with counseling and support. Single Parents - We provide single-parent families the opportunity to live in a safe, secure environment while completing their educational or vocational goals and learning the skills they need to be self-sufficient. Families are provided support through access to affordable housing, financial assistance, counseling, spiritual growth and case management services. Contact us at 432-520-5588 to find out more. Families - The Family Hope Center model offers a child-centered, family-focused place where families can go to find hope, support and empowerment in Midland to reach their fullest God-given potential. Our programs seek to engage through family assistance and community events; equip families through education, financial empowerment, child and youth development; and elevate families through one-on-one coaching, counseling and spiritual enrichment. In Texas, more than 1,000 youth age out of foster care each year.

When youth age out of the foster care system between 18 to 23 years old, they are vulnerable to addiction, human trafficking and homelessness. With little support, former foster youth are left to navigate from adolescence to adulthood on their own.

For National Youth Aging Out Day, you can help by fostering or adopting a teen through Waiting Texas Children and providing mentorship for youth who may not have a positive person in their life.

This Mother's Day Tea Party with Mission Impossible was anything but ordinary. As they arrived, the ladies stepped into a charming tea party decked out with pearls, hats, and all the pampering a mom could dream of. They discussed the power of words in motherhood reminding themselves they are amazing, giving, needed and deeply loved.

We had an incredible Boys Night in partnership with Winner’s Circle Group of Texas! Through the art of sport, our boys explored what it means to lead, stay resilient, and push through challenges with perseverance. The night was filled with fun games, meaningful conversations, and powerful moments of growth. Grateful for the impact and organizations that pour into these young leaders!

Our 4th Annual Luau Resource Fair was a success, with over 15 organizations sharing resources and goodies with the community.

Guests enjoyed burgers provided by Kodiak Gas, along with face painting, bubbles, and bingo in a fun luau-themed atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who made the event possible. We look forward to next year.

We are so honored to share that Midland High School’s Students in Philanthropy selected our organization to receive one of their community impact grants!

Watching these incredible students step up, give back, and lead with such intentional servant hearts reminds us just how bright the future truly is. We are beyond blessed and excited — not only for the children and families we serve, but for these young leaders who are already making a meaningful difference right here in our community.

We are inspired, Midland High School SIP students, by you for believing in the power of service and generosity. The impact you’re making today will ripple far into tomorrow!

Foster care is kingdom work. The late hours, the unknown, the procedures. We know how hard our foster families work to create a safe and loving environment for all kids. That’s why we commit to walking alongside families through counseling, resources, training, finances, prayer, and more, often going above and beyond what is required.

In 2025, there were over 450 children in foster care in Midland. There is still a great need for foster families. May is National Foster Care Month and a great time to consider opening your home to a child.

If you want to learn more, we encourage you to join our free virtual information meeting. You can learn more about Buckner and foster care as well as ask questions. Will you join us?
