SLO Ma is at it again at Crabapple Crossing Elementary! This time, he stopped by a Pre-K class for story time, a few questions and plenty of smiles.

A room full of Pre-K students can keep anyone on their toes, but SLO Ma was up for the challenge. We think he may have earned an invitation back!

You never know who you’ll run into on a Friday night assignment!

Lt. Noblett and Officer Sanford were working security at the St. Francis football game Friday when they crossed paths with a guy who knows a thing or two about playing under the lights: NBA legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Dwight Howard.

Atlanta basketball fans may remember Howard from his time with the Hawks, but his résumé goes well beyond that. The Atlanta native is an eight-time NBA All-Star, three-time Defensive Player of the Year and 2020 NBA champion. And he’s still on the court, having recently wrapped up a season playing for the Los Angeles Riot in the BIG3 professional 3-on-3 basketball league.

Thanks to Dwight for taking a minute to grab a photo with our officers. Definitely not your average Friday night security detail!

Friday looks good in blue!

SLO Ma’s updated cruiser is ready for the school year, but the mission hasn’t changed. You’ll find him around campus, at school events, and out in the community helping keep Milton’s students safe.

The new look is a bonus.

Have a safe weekend, Milton!

Story time looks a little different when your guest reader arrives in uniform!

SLO Ma stopped by a kindergarten classroom at Crabapple Crossing Elementary School to read and spend some time with a few of Milton’s youngest students.

Visits like this give students a chance to get to know the officers they see around school in a relaxed setting. And as you can see, SLO Ma had a pretty attentive audience!

Thanks to our friends at CCES for letting SLO Ma join the class. We’re pretty sure he enjoyed story time just as much as they did.

We know the rearview mirror has excellent lighting. We also know that the mascara wand is not going to help you stay in your lane.

Distracted driving isn’t limited to your phone. Eating, reaching for something, fixing your hair and, yes, putting on makeup all takes your attention away from the road.

So, here’s a friendly reminder from us:
Put the phone down. Put the mascara down. Keep your eyes up.

Everything else can wait. The road can’t.

Drive safe, Milton.

Happy Tuesday, Milton! We have some good news to share this morning!

The traffic signal at Crabapple Road and Green Road is now fully functional.
Eyes up and attention on the intersection.

Good Monday morning, Milton!

As you head out for work, school and everything else on the schedule, please pay attention to our officers and PSAs directing traffic.

They’re there to help students and families cross safely and keep traffic moving. Watch for their directions, put the distractions down and give them the space they need to do their jobs.

A little patience and attention go a long way during a busy morning commute.

Be safe, be respectful, and have a great Monday!

The traffic signal at Crabapple Road and Green Road is currently flashing. We are aware of the issue, and Public Works has been notified. Georgia DOT has advised that the signal is expected to remain in flashing mode for approximately the next week to comply with national best practices for new traffic signals.

Reminder: When you approach a flashing red signal, come to a complete stop and treat the intersection as a three-way stop. Take turns, pay attention to other drivers and pedestrians, and please be courteous to one another.

We know this can be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience. Please follow the rules of the road and use extra caution as you travel through the intersection.

City Council meetings may look a little different from a patrol shift, but keeping our community safe takes our officers to plenty of places beyond the cruiser.

You’ll always find members of Milton PD at City Council meetings, including these two, Sgt. Lappin and Officer Richards, who were on hand Monday night. Their presence is part of the work they do every day to serve the City.
