The MHFD would like to thank Ms. Dottie Bramhall for donating this uniquely beautiful American Flag to us. It is made exclusively of old fire hose. Ms. Bramhall found an artisan in Lancaster, SC who created this art work. It is proudly displayed in our apparatus bay at Station 1.

Thank you Ms. Bramhall and Ms. Stogner.

We would to thank everyone that come out to celebrate the addition of our new apparatus. This community never fails to show up when called. These pictures may show the amount of people in attendance but it doesn’t grasp the support that was felt for the Mint Hill Fire Department.

Between the 1850’s and 1920’s when a horse drawn fire engine returned from a call the crews would unhook the horses and push the engine back into the bay placing it back “in service” and ready for the next call

Please join us on Thursday May 28th at 6pm as we place our brand new Tower 1 in service with the time honored tradition of a push in ceremony. We welcome everyone in the community to come and take part as a symbol of the connection between the fire department and the citizens that we serve.

The ceremony will be held at Mint Hill station 1 @ 8313 Fairview Rd in Mint Hill

Citizen of Mint Hill, please read this post carefully. Yes we have had some rain, and yes, there is more rain in the forecast. However, Mecklenburg county and the surrounding area are very much still under a burn ban so please refrain from any and all open burning. If you have any questions please reach out to us.

Mint Hill residents please read. This applies to everyone!

Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide effective 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28 until further notice.

Under North Carolina law, the ban prohibits all open burning in the affected counties, regardless of whether a permit was previously issued. The issuance of any new permits has also been suspended until the ban is lifted. Anyone violating the burn ban faces a $100 fine plus $183 court costs. Any person responsible for setting a fire may be liable for any expenses related to extinguishing the fire.

The burn ban does not apply to fires started within 100 feet of an occupied dwelling. The local fire marshal has authority to issue a burn ban within those 100 feet.

Effective Saturday, March 28 at 8 a.m., the National Weather Service has issued a ** 🚩🚩RED FLAG WARNING🚩🚩** for some North Carolina counties. For counties that aren’t under a red flag, fire danger is still critical. Review weather alerts for North Carolina at weather.gov.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create dangerous fire behavior.

While open burning is permitted during a red flag, it is NOT advised. Please postpone ALL outdoor burning. If there was ever a time to show you can follow instructions the first time they are given, it’s now.

Careless debris burning is the leading cause of wildfires in North Carolina, and you are our best defense against wildfire. For wildfire readiness and prevention tips: preventwildfirenc.org

Mint Hill Fire Department is proud to announce the arrival of the new Tower 1.

This apparatus that will replace the current Ladder 1 will enhance our ability to operate at multi-story structures, provide elevated master stream capabilities, and improve overall response effectiveness across our district.

Tower 1 is equipped to support fire suppression, rescue operations, and aerial access, allowing our crews to operate more efficiently and safely on the fireground.

We are committed to providing the highest level of service to our community, and this addition is an important step in maintaining that standard.

We appreciate the continued support from our town leadership and community.
