Our Fair Entry Deadline is nearly one week away. All members planning on showing at the 2026 Henderson County 4-H Fair MUST register by 11:59 p.m. on June 27 at https://fairentry.com/Fair/SignIn/23069. Any issues should be emailed to Angel ahead of the deadline and will be handled the next business day. We recommend not waiting until the last minute so staff are available to help with any questions.

There is still time to register for this event! Learn more about careers in animal science and earn a state-level experience for your 4-H Experience Award Application!

Join the National Association of Extension and 4-H Youth Development Professionals, Animal Science Working Group, to hear from speakers throughout the Animal Science Industry.

Speakers include Dr. Mark Hoge, Associate Professor of Animal Science and Livestock Judging Coach, Western Illinois University, and Mr. Kevin Robinson, Senior Animal Care Specialist, Sea World San Diego.

The 4-H Dog Show was held on Sunday, June 14, at the Warren County Fairgrounds Pattee Building. The participating counties were Henderson, Knox, McDonough, and Warren. Warren County results: Beginner Novice 2, Rally Novice, and Jr. Showmanship Champion Rilynn Evans of the Willing Workers 4-H club. and her dog Charlie. They qualified for the state contest! We are so proud of all of your hard work and dedication. Rilynn is coached by 4-H Volunteer Dayne Gittings.
4-H members are required to attend at least 6 training sessions with their dogs. For more information about 4-H Dog Obedience, contact the 4-H office at 309-734-5161.

Today we hosted our Annual Warren County 4-H Livestock Judging Contest. Thanks to all the members who came out and the volunteer coaches who take the time to work with our youth. Full Results can be viewed at https://judgingcard.com/Results/Events.aspx?ID=28855.

Our volunteer Livestock Judging Coach, Lynn Shimmin, works hard to put on a great contest that creates a premier experience for all members who attend. Long post as we thank all who made today possible.

One baked fruit pie, per member, or 2 pies for a family with multiple members. Bring them whole, and we will plate. These pies are the dessert for the Warren County 4-H BBQ. Thank you!

How Do You Prepare for the Warren County 4-H Fair, General Project Show?
(4-H General Project Show is July 14, check in at 1:00 pm at the Pattee Building on the Warren County Fairgrounds, Roseville, IL)
1. Make sure you have attended at least four 4-H club meetings and completed a talk/demo about a project area.
2. Check your 4h.zsuite.org/profile Account to see what projects you signed up for in 2025-26.
3. Go to https://fairentry.com/Fair/SignIn/23069 and use your previous profile, or if you are new to 4-H, create a profile. You must specify what you are bringing to the fair. The DEADLINE TO COMPLETE IS June 27, 2026, to show your projects at the 4-H fair.
4. Check your fair book to see if your project requires a project publication. Order the project publication through the 4-H newsletter.
5. Check your monthly newsletter. This newsletter is sent to your email at the beginning of each month from [email protected] (Angel Wright’s email). This newsletter has the links to everything you need above.

Black Hawk East Elite Livestock Judging Camp...is back! 4-H members can attend and utilize the 4-H event scholarship by contacting [email protected] before registering. The camp takes place June 1-3 and includes lunch. Registration will be sent by May 22.
