The Original Monongahela Candlelight Ghostwalk is back to benefit the Monongahela Area Library!

Listen to the true haunted tales of Monongahela as told by originator and author, Susan Bowers, who is a member of our library board, as well.

Follow her by candlelight as she leads you through Monongahela's darkened streets. See photos of actual spirits encountered over the years. You won't be disappointed!

The Ghostwalks will take place at 7 p.m. on:

Friday, Oct. 9th and Saturday, Oct. 10th

and

Friday, Oct. 23rd and Saturday, Oct. 24th.

The walk begins at 7 p.m. each night as we gather at the Monongahela Area Library. Depending on weather, we will either meet inside the library lobby or gather in the front parking lot. This event is rain or shine. We will have hot cocoa for sipping and everyone gets a keepsake bookmark. Copies of Susan's book, "Haunted Tales Along the Mon" will be available for sale at the end of the walk. This event is recommended for ages 10+.

A reservation to attend the night of your choosing can be purchased on our website for $17 (includes coverage of PayPal fees) or in person at the library for $15. Benefits the Monongahela Area Library!

Did you know there is a partial lunar eclipse coming our way tomorrow?

Thank you to Kathy DeSantis for dropping off some handouts about it. You can stop at the library for a copy.

The eclipse begins in our area on Thursday, Aug. 27th at 9:23 p.m. and ends Friday at 3:01 a.m. The maximum can be seen at 12:12 a.m.

Also, check out Mingo Creek Park Observatory's remaining Star Parties this year! So very cool we have this nearby!

If you can, please speak out to save this program. We rely on it to provide free access to the internet to our patrons!

If you can, please speak out to save this program. We rely on it to provide free access to the internet to our patrons!

A program called E-Rate has helped expand public internet access for 30 years. As the Federal Communications Commission challenges whether the subsidies are still needed, schools and libraries say cuts could leave them with hard choices.

We have CareerLink at the library today until 2 p.m.! Stop down for some guidance.
