Neligh Vol. Fire Dept. Neligh Fire is a 45 member strong volunteer organization serving the City of Neligh and Neligh Rural Fire District. Founded April 22, 1887

We also provide mutual aid to surrounding communities. Neligh Fire was founded April 22, 1887. This will be our 125th year of operation. We have 3 pumper trucks, 2 tankers, 3 grass rigs, 2 equipment vans and our 1941 Chevy Parade truck. We have a total of 9200 gallons of water on board when we leave for a call. Average response is 23 members per call.

Update on Burn Ban: The governor is returning the authority of local fire chiefs to waive the statewide burn ban by issuing a burn permit.
The move comes as drought and wildfire risks across the state have eased.

BURN BAN: While we are extremely grateful for the moisture, this does not change the prohibition on open burning that came from the office of the Governor. The burn ban is still in effect until 11:59 PM on April 10. Thank you for understanding.

Governor Pillen has issued a statewide burn ban effective March 13th for 14 days. No burn permits will be issued.
