Nevada County Library announces a new workstation for caregivers to enjoy in the company of their little ones! The Family Workstation is located at the Madelyn Helling Library in Nevada City. It includes a desk with access to power and WiFi for one adult and an enclosed play area for one small infant or toddler. The space is first-come, first-serve and available to use for two hours at a time.

Dolly Parton was beloved to librarians everywhere and will be so missed. Listen in to Star 94.1 FM at 9 a.m. Thursday, August 27 as librarians Jaclyn and Tricia share a story about Dolly. The story will replay at 8 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 29.

Also, does your little one participate in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to receive free books? If not, ask your local librarian how it works. Imagination Library is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Nevada City and run by First 5 Nevada County.

Hey teen! Does your school require service learning hours? Want to learn some job skills to build your resume ? Want to provide meaningful service to your community through volunteer work? You can do that and more at the Grass Valley Library by attending our Teen Volunteer Night, the first Wednesday of the month at 5pm.
Join us this Wednesday, September 2nd at 5pm to learn how.

This summer, join us outside for stories, songs, and rhymes in the Grass Valley Library's backyard on Thursdays at 11am!

Story time is a great way to build early literacy, creativity and social skills.

Lunch at the Library finished up on August 7th and Stay & Play will resume September 10th.

Swing by between 10:30am-12:30pm on the first Tuesday of the month to talk with representatives from Adult Services, Child Support Services, Social Services, Veterans Services, and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital about Medi-Cal, In-Home Support, and more! If you're unable to make it to the Grass Valley Library, remember that these resources are also available at the Madelyn Helling branch on the first Wednesday of the month!
