Make a Difference in Your Community!

LCAP has volunteer opportunities available for those looking to give back and help older adults in our community!

Meals on Wheels Helper: Help load and deliver meals by riding along with an LCAP team member. No driving required! Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, approximately 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with flexibility based on route availability.

Dining Club Ambassador: Enjoy conversation, share information about LCAP events, and help clients feel connected. We need one volunteer on Tuesday, November 3, from 9:45 to 11:15 AM at IHOP, 651 Hebron Road in Heath.

Did you know that if you have mobility challenges, you may be eligible for curbside voting? This option can help make voting more accessible and supports an Age-Friendly Licking County, where people of all ages and abilities can participate in their community. Contact the Licking County Board of Elections at (740) 670-5080 to learn more. Be sure to watch for important voting dates and deadlines so you can plan ahead and make your voice heard!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Early detection can make a difference. Breast cancer screening can help detect cancer before symptoms appear. If you're due for a mammogram, talk with your healthcare provider about when screening is right for you.

Did you know free breast and cervical cancer screenings may be available to eligible women in Ohio?The Central Ohio Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP), based at the Licking County Health Department, serves 14 counties, including Licking County. Eligible women can receive screening and diagnostic services at no cost and be connected with providers in their area.

Each Holiday Bag includes shelf-stable food items, hygiene items, socks, and a calendar for a homebound older adult served by Meals on Wheels.

Rising food and supply costs make community support especially important this year. Your donation helps us reach all 1,000 recipients and, when funding allows, strengthen the contents of each bag.
