Well, just like that, backpacks are getting packed🎒and alarm clocks set ⏰…back-to-school time is here!

🙌 To all the young learners heading back this week: I hope your school year is filled with new experiences and moments that make you proud.
🤝 To the parents & grown-ups by their sides, helping with the homework & early mornings: I know the feeling… you’ve got this, too!

We’re lucky in the 168th to have such strong schools and so many caring, dedicated people who show up to them (often at the peak of dawn!) day after day for our kids.

I’m incredibly proud of everyone – from the students to the custodial staff to the bus drivers – heading out the door today & tomorrow to schools in our community. I wish you a wonderful year ahead, and hope you have a fantastic first week!

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day đź’ś Take a moment to remember those who have lost their lives to overdose and support some of the organizations dedicated to substance abuse treatment and harm reduction in our area like Savage Sisters

Substance abuse and overdose touch every community and my colleagues and I in Harrisburg are committed to securing funding and passing legislation that support Pennsylvanian's and their families who are affected.

📣Good news in Radnor Township from Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and Radnor Township Public Works!

Milling and paving of Bryn Mawr Avenue from Hunt Road to County Line will begin on September 1st and last approximately two weeks (weather permitting).

Tuesday, September 1, through Thursday, September 3, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Bryn Mawr Avenue between County Line Road and the bridge over Foxes Run in Radnor Township for milling. Paving will then happen.

The milling and paving work will be done at night 6pm – 6am from Sunday to Thursday. With the exception of Sunday, September 6th and Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.

Please be careful driving through the area to keep the workers safe and bring some patience as the road will be down to one lane. Short term pain for long term gain!

This milling and paving project will begin on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 and is expected to last for two weeks, weather permitting.

It’s back to school time and those yellow buses will be hitting the streets. Here are a few reminders about bus safety for drivers. Help keep our students safe!

🛑Motorists must stop at least 10 feet away from school buses that have their red lights flashing and stop arm activated.

🛑Motorists must stop when they are behind a bus, meeting the bus or approaching an intersection where a bus is stopped.

🛑Motorists following or traveling alongside a school bus must also stop until the red lights have stopped flashing, the stop arm is withdrawn, and all children have reached safety.

🛑Do not proceed until all the children have reached a place of safety.

Remember, Pennsylvania law allows school districts to use automated stop-arm cameras to catch and fine drivers who illegally pass stopped school buses. It carries a $300 fine. Most busses in our area have these cameras and they do issue tickets.

I am so very sorry to hear of Sara Pilling's passing and send my deepest condolences to her family and friends.

She was one of the fiercest community advocates I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with during my time as an elected official in Radnor. Sara always challenged and questioned in a way that made me think harder and deeper about issues and consider all points of view. I had the utmost respect for her as an expert in areas where I was not and we had many spirited discussions as we both worked to enhance the township we both called home. Many a night sitting on the dais as a commissioner I would look out and see Sara preparing to come to the podium to share information, rally for a cause, or point out issues we needed to be considering. She did not back down and did not give in... qualities that helped to craft the wonderful legacy she leaves behind.

Her heart was in her home, and her home was Radnor and Garrett Hill. Watch out heaven, Sara is coming!

View Sara Fries Pilling's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

The recent settlement between Meta and states like PA who joined to challenge the addictiveness of Meta's social platforms and that they created it purposefully and knowingly is a real win. Thank you Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General Dave Sunday and his team.

It’s been an exhausting for Raleigh. Wishing all our four legged friends in the 168th a happy day!
