The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska has been reintroducing bison to our native homelands since the Tribe was restored in 1990, and we now have a herd of more than 300 on almost 1,500 acres of pasture land. This Thursday, Congress will hold a hearing on H.R.7954, a bipartisan bill that directs the Department of the Interior to work with Native Tribes and Tribal organizations to support Tribal capacity to manage buffalo and buffalo habitat. The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska proudly supports this bill because it will grow Tribal buffalo herds across the country. Learn more about the bill here: https://ow.ly/490J50Z2bqA

Public Brownfield Record Available Online
Did you know that the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska has a public record showing whether any properties have been assessed or cleaned up due to possible environmental contamination?

This record is updated each year by the Environmental Hazards Specialist to help keep Tribal members informed.

It allows you to see if a property has been identified as potentially contaminated, if it has been cleaned up, or if any action has been taken to address environmental concerns.

This effort helps protect the health of our lands and our people by providing clear and transparent information.
