Sage & Serenity, A Golden Age Retreat
October 12th - 15th, 2026
Platte River State Park | Louisville, NE

The Domestic Violence Program would like to invite
community elders to join us for an elderly retreat.
During this time, participants will have the opportunity to join in
our information training sessions as well as self-care activities,
crafts times, and other therapies.

Participants will stay onsite in one of several cabins.
Meals will be provided. Transportation to and from the
retreat will be provided to those who need it.

The Nebraska Intertribal Coalition issues the following statement on the recent mistrial in the Terri McCauley case.

The Nebraska Intertribal Coalition represents the Ponca, Omaha, Santee Sioux, and Winnebago (Ho-Chunk) Nations. Our tribal nations are saddened to learn that a mistrial has been declared in the murder case of Terri McCauley.
Terri was a daughter, a mother, a sister, an aunt, and a Native woman whose life mattered deeply to her family and to all our communities. She was a member of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska and a Ponca descendant, and her loss is felt across Indian Country.
Our ways teach us that every living being is a relative deserving of dignity. In our communities, women are held in the highest regard and must be protected. Our tribal nations will not forget her, nor will we rest until justice is served.
We thank law enforcement and the Woodbury County Attorney's Office for their continued work and encourage them to remain steadfast in the pursuit of justice for Terri.

Project Venture will be presenting new beading projects each week. These classes are for all Native youth ages 10–18, and all experience levels are welcome!

Participants will learn beginner-friendly beadwork techniques and create their own beadwork projects such as earrings, keychains, or necklaces.

Tribal members are invited to attend the second General Membership meeting of 2026 on November 21 at any PTN office location (Niobrara, Sioux City, Ralston, Lincoln Clinic, Norfolk), or online via Lifesize. Lunch and refreshments will be provided at each office location.

Meet Community Health Worker Julie Flynn!

Hello! My name is Julie Flynn, and I have been a Community Health Worker for nearly three years. I am an enrolled Ponca member, a proud mother of four, and a grandmother of four.

I enjoy working for the Tribe because it gives me the opportunity to give back to my community, especially our Elders and our younger generations. I hope that through the work I do, I can help our youth learn who they are, understand where they come from, and stay connected to their culture and community.

Being there for our Elders is especially important to me. Not everyone has someone they can turn to or connect with. Whether I’m serving an Elder lunch, helping someone find housing, connecting them with resources, or helping them get to a doctor’s appointment, every interaction matters.

Everything is a connection, and I want to be one of those dots that helps connect our people to what they need.
