We’re thrilled to be partnering with Crabtree Sessions once again for this year’s Lobster Roll Social, which we plan to make an annual event for the Historical Society.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of great food, community, and incredible live music by Jackson and the Janks. Their high-energy blend of rock and roll, rhythm & blues, garage gospel, and dance-worthy tunes is guaranteed to keep the crowd moving all night long.

Grab your friends, bring your family, and come celebrate with us on Monday, August 3, from 5:00–7:00 PM. It’s shaping up to be one of the highlights of the summer—you won’t want to miss it!

Please bring lawn chairs!

We are so grateful to be working with James Frances on a special project supported by the Andrew Sanger Memorial Fund at the Historical Society, for an upcoming exhibition celebrating and honoring Indigenous Peoples on the Fox Island. The exhibition with launch in the Summer of 2028.

James Eric Francis Sr. is Penobscot Nation’s Director of Cultural and Historic Preservation, Tribal Historian, and Chair of Penobscot Tribal Rights and Resource Protection Board. As a historian James studies the relationship between Maine Native Americans and the landscape. Prior to working at the Penobscot Nation, James worked for the Wabanaki Studies Commission helping implement the new Maine Native American Studies Law into Maine schools. James co-produced a film, Invisible, which examines racism experienced by Native Americans in Maine and the Canadian Maritimes. James is the on the Co-Chair of the Abbe Museum’s Board of Trustees, and Co-Director of Local Context an initiative to support Native, First Nations, Aboriginal, and Indigenous communities in the management of their intellectual property and cultural heritage. James also serves on the UMaine’s Hudson Museum Advisory Board. James is a historical researcher, photographer, filmmaker, painter, and graphics artist.

He shared with us recently a timelapse video he made while stay and Alice Greenways Cabin in late June 2026.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

PLEASE MARK YOUR SUMMER CALENDARS!

We are so grateful for the incredible support of our North Haven community. Thank you for helping make the North Haven Historical Society such a special place.

Join us for another evening of delicious lobster rolls, great company, and summer fun! Our lobster rolls are made possible by our favorite island lobstermen and lobster women and wonderfully prepared by the North Haven Lions Club.

We'll have music, lawn games, and beverages available for purchase, including beer, sangria, wine, and soda. Donations are always welcome.

Bring the whole family, gather with friends, and enjoy a fun evening filled with good food, good company, and great island vibes. We can't wait to see you there!
