Safe Families Oklahoma is a community-based movement of volunteers grounded in the belief that the safety and health of children is the responsibility of all of us, and that parents are the key to providing that well-being. For that reason, Safe Families focuses on strengthening and supporting parents in crisis by providing them ‘breathing room’, allowing families to stabilize while their children

are in a safe and loving environment. We have three goals: 1) to reduce the number of children entering foster care, 2) to intervene and prevent child abuse or neglect before it occurs and 3) to strengthen, support and stabilize families in crisis. We accomplish this by partnering with parents in crisis to offer them safe, temporary homes for their children while they get back on their feet. Since participation is voluntary, parents can choose to have their children returned to them at any time. Founded in Chicago in 2002, Safe Families for Children has partnered with local churches, community agencies, volunteer families and government organizations to facilitate more than 25,000 hostings since its beginning. chapters as well as chapters in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Kenya, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong.

Safe Families Oklahoma was blessed to participate in a Church and Community Back-to-School Event with other community partners, where around 500 backpacks were distributed. We were able to provide information and help keep kiddos cool with Icee Pops. Thankful for Pastors Anthony & Ashley at Remnant Church for all you do!
