I was deeply honored to stand alongside the Burgess family, advocates from the National Blood Clot Alliance, and Representative Preston Stinson as HB3644, the “Blake Burgess Act,” was signed into law by Governor Stitt today. This legislation strengthens blood clot awareness, prevention, training, and reporting standards across Oklahoma’s healthcare system and will help save lives. The Burgess family's strength, courage, and determination in the face of unimaginable loss made this possible.

It was my utmost honor to be the guest speaker at the 58th Annual Oklahoma Law Enforcement Memorial Service. The Oklahoma Law Enforcement Memorial was the first permanent memorial built in the United States to honor all of the fallen officers of a state. We must never forget their sacrifice, and the sacrifice of their loved ones.

It was an honor to work on this legislation to recognize our Gold Star families. This will give Oklahoma families who have lost a loved one in the line of duty a place to reflect and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This is a small gesture to make sure that these sacrifices are never forgotten. I look forward to the day this monument is erected on the grounds of our state Capitol.

Four months after Dawn Woody married her husband, he was killed in a bombing in Saudi Arabia.

The Soldiers and Airmen of the Oklahoma National Guard and their families epitomize the Oklahoma standard! I was extremely honored to be recognized as the National Guard Association of Oklahoma’s Legislator of the Year 2026 at their annual Ball.

Had a great time celebrating some exciting news for Grove Valley Elementary and Knight Ridge Elementary.

Both schools have earned the Purple Star School designation, which recognizes their commitment to supporting military students and families. It is wonderful to see these schools going the extra mile to make these kids feel welcome and supported in the classroom and the community.

Only 20 schools in Oklahoma have received this designation, and now three of them are right here in Deer Creek!

The Regional University System of Oklahoma and Oklahoma Legislature leaders today announced the formation of the bipartisan RUSO Caucus, a new legislative caucus comprised of lawmakers who are alumni of RUSO institutions or who support the RUSO system’s mission to prepare students to lead Oklahoma into the future.

It was another great week at the Capitol! Students and college and university leaders from across the state were in the building for Higher Ed Day. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with a group of students from ECU, my alma mater, because once a tiger, always a tiger. We also kicked off the week by celebrating Edmond Day at the Capitol.

It was an honor to speak at AERO Day at the Capitol today and meet with military officials, industry professionals and students as we celebrated Oklahoma's second-largest industry. I talked about the Aerospace Caucus and why it’s so important that we keep working together to build on the momentum within the aerospace, aviation, and defense industry across our state.
