Starting Monday, Sept. 28, Robert S Kerr Avenue will temporarily close under the railroad bridge at E K Ga***rd Boulevard. Northbound E K Ga***rd will also be narrowed around the closure. Detours will be marked.

Here's a late afternoon pick-me-up! Our two goat guardians, Sam and Monte, were treated to a pedicure thanks to our veterinarians and farrier service team.

Because of the steep terrain where the donkeys roam alongside the Hefner Goats, they only require hoof trims every 4 to 5 years. They still get annual checkups, though, just to make sure they remain healthy and ready for service.

It's just one way we ensure these four-legged employees stay in tip-top shape!

Earlier this week, the City cut the ribbon on four SOFT AND CUSHY football fields at Edwards Park, 1515 N. Bryant Ave. That's a scientific sportsball term.

"We're so excited to see these fields busy already," OKC Parks Director Melinda McMillan-Miller said. "We're proud to partner with athletic groups that give the kids in our community a place to learn and grow. Now they have a beautiful, refreshed place to play."

Oklahoma City leaders broke ground today on the first MAPS 4 Youth Center, a state-of-the-art facility in Woodson Park, 3403 S. May Ave. The facility is designed to transform the lives of Oklahoma City's youth with learning and social opportunities for children of all ages. The $18.7-million project includes $13.7 million from MAPS 4 and $5 million from the OKC 2025 Bond.

The 48,370-square-foot building will be operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. The youth center will feature a welcoming main lobby, gymnasium with two basketball courts, learning centers, classrooms, youth lounges, a kitchen and dining hall, teaching kitchens, a flex space for workforce development and community events, and studios for performing arts.

Have you seen the new Route 66 Centennial Monuments yet?

The monuments were created by Oklahoma City-based VOX Audio Visual. OKC artist Stan Carroll collaborated with VOX on the monument's design, and GS Signs, an OKC sign manufacturer, fabricates and installs them throughout the United States.
