Grateful. That’s the word that comes to mind when we see the pictures. Dozens of our neighbors spent time earlier this month reviewing thousands of plats to help us spot and ultimately rectify discriminatory language in these land documents. Thank you!

Special shoutout to City interns Isabel Zedlitz and Sara Hassan, OCCC and OU graduate student William Willson, for all their behind-the-scenes work.

Next steps: We will continue to send batches of plats through the amendment process (to the Planning Commission and City Council). And simultaneously, we will be doing a deeper dive into any plats that need further review, which could mean searching for separately filed restrictions or going to the County Clerk's preservation space to review the physical documents.

It is school supply season!!!

Not everything used for school belongs in the recycling cart.

Pens, markers, crayons, binders, and pencil pouches belong in Big Blue.
Paper and cardboard packaging? Those go in Big Green.

Knowing the difference helps reduce contamination.

Oklahoma City leaders broke ground today on the $12.3-million MAPS 4 Robert Ravitz Crisis Center, a facility designed to expand access to critical mental health and substance use intervention resources for Oklahoma City residents. Arnall Family Foundation also contributed $2.6 million to the project.

The center will include spaces for emergency assessments, stabilization detoxification, counseling, respite, adequate sleep and connections to ongoing support for people experiencing a mental health crisis. It will be operated by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS). The center will feature an urgent recovery center with 25 observation stations and a social living area, two crisis stabilization wings with a total of 32 beds, a group therapy room, calming room, social living area and outdoor courtyard. The center will also include administrative offices, a kitchen and a cafeteria.

The crisis center will be located at 1200 NE 13th St., on the east side of the OU Health Sciences Center campus. The center is scheduled to open in 2028.

We've all been there...
"Maybe it's recyclable?"

That's called wishcycling, and it creates more problems than it solves.

If you are not sure it belongs in Big Green, the better idea is to throw it in Big Blue instead.
