River, our Fish OKC hatchery dog, was adopted from OKC Animal Welfare one year ago Friday, so we had to celebrate her rookie year with OKC Parks by visiting friends at the shelter! To mark River's Gotcha Day, we took treats to adoptable friends Keeno-Dug, Igloo, and Butterfly.

Today marks ONE YEAR since River the Hatchery Dog was adopted from OKC Animal Welfare by Fish OKC Biologist John Rayfield. We had to have a Gotcha Day party to celebrate her rookie year at the H.B. Parsons Fish Hatchery!

River's primary job is to be on paw-trol, chasing away predatory birds and keeping growing fish safe. River also enjoys riding in the golf cart, swimming the rearing ponds, and running in the tall grass.

She's learned basic commands, like sit and stay, but she's still very much a puppy. We are so glad she is part of the OKC Parks team!
