Sooner Job ChalleNGe is an optional next step for graduates of the Thunderbird ChalleNGe Program. At Sooner Job ChalleNGe, Associates will build upon the life and leadership skills they have already begun to develop at Thunderbird, while having the opportunity to further their success through career readiness and vocational training at Metro Tech. Two pathways will be available to Cycle #1 Associates: Culinary Arts and Structural Welding

📣 Cycle #1: January - June 2025 (Final dates will be announced soon.) Applicants must be:
✅ A graduate of the Thunderbird Challenge Program
✅ Ages 16.5-20 years old and at least a high school junior
✅ High school graduate, or on track to earn a high school diploma by the end of the program
✅ U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States
✅ No felony convictions or pending felony charges
✅ Free of illegal drug use

Some of our staff are at the Oklahoma Works conference in OKC. While there, they met Micheal Cage who is with FOX sports and also a television broadcast color analyst for the OKC Thunder. He’s a NBA Hall of Famer and today is speaking about Perseverance.

Oklahoma Works and Oklahoma’s Workforce Board came to SJC to visit with students about resume' development, interviewing skills, and getting prepared for the workforce. Associates had the opportunity to do one on one "speed" mock interviews to help them get used to the interview process.
