Summer Throwback ☀️🇺🇸

Over the summer, our Explorer Cadets had the opportunity to visit the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, adding another memorable educational experience to a summer filled with service, training, and learning.

During their visit, the cadets were able to explore exhibits highlighting the United States Constitution, American history, and the principles and responsibilities that form the foundation of our government. Experiences like this give our young men and women an opportunity to learn outside of the classroom while gaining a greater appreciation for our nation's history and the importance of civic responsibility.

The Explorer Program is about much more than learning about law enforcement. It is also about leadership, education, community service, teamwork, professionalism, and preparing young people to become responsible members of their communities.

We are proud to provide our Explorer Cadets with opportunities throughout the year that allow them to learn, serve, grow, and experience places they may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit.

Another great summer memory and another valuable experience for our Explorer Cadets!

Today, some of our Senior Explorer Cadets had the opportunity to assist with the FBI National Academy tour in Philadelphia.

Our Explorer Cadets regularly assist with many of these tours when FBI National Academy classes visit or travel through Philadelphia. Their continued involvement provides valuable support while giving our cadets firsthand experience working alongside law enforcement professionals from across the country and beyond.

During today's tour, our cadets played an important role by providing traffic control, assisting with pedestrian safety, and ensuring participants were able to safely cross streets throughout the city. Their efforts helped keep the tour organized, safe, and efficient while allowing the mission to be completed successfully.

In addition to their responsibilities, our Explorer Cadets were able to enjoy some unique experiences and sights along the way, including a behind-the-scenes look at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Opportunities like these provide our Explorer Cadets with valuable hands-on experience in teamwork, responsibility, leadership, public safety, and professionalism.

We are extremely proud of our cadets for representing the program professionally and for their continued dedication to serving and assisting our community and law enforcement partners.

After a busy and rewarding summer of volunteering countless hours of community service, assisting at numerous events, and participating in various training opportunities, some of our Explorer Cadets had the opportunity to visit the Philadelphia Police Marine Unit.

During their visit, the Explorers received a firsthand look at some of the specialized equipment and lifesaving tools utilized by Marine Unit officers. They also learned more about the important role the unit plays in protecting our waterways and responding to emergencies.

To top off the experience, the Explorers had the opportunity to enjoy a boat ride and see the Marine Unit in action from a different perspective.

A special thank you to the Philadelphia Police Marine Unit and its officers for taking the time to educate our Explorers, share their knowledge and experience, and provide them with a memorable and rewarding opportunity.

After a summer dedicated to serving their community, it was certainly a well-deserved experience for our Explorer Cadets!

Throughout the summer, our Explorer Cadets have the opportunity to assist with numerous events and programs, including the Youth Cadet Camp.

The Youth Cadet Camp provides participants with a firsthand look at some of the training, responsibilities, and real-world situations Philadelphia Police Officers may encounter throughout their careers.

During this portion of the program, Youth Cadets participated in Reality-Based Training (RBT), where they were introduced to realistic scenarios designed to demonstrate the decision-making, communication, teamwork, and situational awareness required of law enforcement officers.

A special thank you to our RBT instructors for taking the time to work with our Youth Cadets, share their knowledge and experience, and provide them with a safe, educational, and memorable training experience.

Programs like these provide our young people with a unique opportunity to learn while developing a greater understanding and appreciation of what it takes to serve as a Philadelphia Police Officer.
