Today, I joined Senator Bernie Moreno, leaders from Perry and Muskingum Counties, and representatives from FEMA and SBA at the newly opened Disaster Recovery Center in Roseville to discuss the next steps in flood recovery.

Last week, President Trump approved federal disaster relief for communities in OH-12, providing much-needed assistance for Ohio families and businesses as we work to rebuild stronger than before.

JUST ANNOUNCED: I just received confirmation that President Trump has approved Ohio’s major disaster declaration for the devastating flooding in August.

Federal flood relief is now on the way to help Ohio families, businesses, and communities recover and rebuild. But the job isn’t over.

Ohio families shouldn’t be subsidizing some of the world’s largest tech companies.

If data centers are built in Ohio, they should pay for the electricity and infrastructure they need—not force those costs onto families and small businesses.

No Ohioan should see their electric bill go up just so a data center can be built.

The Ratepayer Protection Act puts a stop to that and makes sure these companies pay their own way. The House passed this commonsense bill by a bipartisan vote of 417-3, but Senate Democrats blocked it from moving forward.

Ohioans are already facing rising electric bills, yet Democrats in Washington chose petty politics over protecting Ohio ratepayers.
