It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of George Mullins Jr., a devoted public servant and cherished member of the Shaler community. George served for over 30 years with the Shaler Villa Volunteer Fire Company, and was serving as a Fire Police Officer with the Shaler Township Fire Police at the time of his passing on August 9, 2026, at the age of 66.

George's decades of service reflect the very best of what it means to be a neighbor — showing up, time and again, to keep our community safe.

On behalf of our district, I extend my deepest condolences to George's family, friends, and his fellow first responders at Shaler Villa VFC. His dedication leaves a lasting impact on Shaler Township, and he will be remembered with gratitude by all who knew him and all who benefited from his service.

Rest in peace, George. Thank you for your years of selfless service to our community. ❤️

Etna’s Main Street is about to shine 🚸🌟

Thanks to PA DCED’s Main Street Matters program, we’re investing in streetscape improvements to make downtown Etna safer for everyone.

One of the things that makes the 21st District special is the number of distinct, vibrant communities it’s made up of, each with a downtown or Main Street that anchors it.
This investment in Etna is a great example of what’s possible when we put resources where they matter most.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of our Main Streets get this same opportunity!

Couldn’t have asked for better weather for an Open Streets event 🚲🏡

Yesterday, Butler Street was bustling with car-free traffic, giving folks a chance to explore local businesses, green spaces, and other activities that may not always be as accessible.

I always love to see this event pop up in the neighborhood and will continue to welcome it with open arms! 🤗
