It’s pretty simple, get vaccinated against measles! There are 60 years' worth of science and lived experience in support of the MMR vaccine. To openly ignore the data and not get vaccinated puts not only yourself at risk, but also many in our communities and Commonwealth.

Pittsburgh Regional Transit has proposed major changes to bus lines in our area, and they are asking community members to weigh in. Residents can learn more about the changes and comment by going to www.buslinerefresh.com. The public comment period will run through September 30th.

Today is National Food Bank Day. In this time of increased food insecurity due to inflation and food assistance cuts, I would like to thank the food banks in our community such as Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and the North Hills Community Outreach Food Pantry for all they do to alleviate hunger.

Always great to take the team out to lunch to the Taste of Greece Festival at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church - Pittsburgh, PA in the Town of McCandless! I hope everyone gets a chance to come out to have some of the delicious food over the long weekend and enjoy the wonderful community event!

Measles continues to rapidly spread in Pennsylvania. As a physician-legislator, I joined the Pennsylvania Cable Network to discuss the highly infectious and serious nature of this disease and how the MMR vaccine is the only safe and effective way to protect ourselves and end this outbreak. The response to this outbreak is unfortunately becoming partisan, and the public needs to hear from their elected officials on how to stop the spread.
