Meet Connor, Youth Program Recreation Supervisor🌄😄✨

Connor manages, coordinates and facilitates all of the elementary age programs during the school year as well as summer. While in Portsmouth for almost 3 years, Connor has been in the recreation industry for 15 years. Lately, Connor likes to play disc golf with his dog as well as go to the beach.🥏

Fun Fact: Connor use to be a zip line guide in a coastal redwood forest in Northern California!🪾

Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the outdoor pool this summer. It was definitely a busy and hot summer here in Portsmouth.

Meet Your Staff Member Monday!

Meet Todd, the Director of the Recreation Department!🚤⚾️😎

He leads the strategic vision and direction for the entire department, working with City Leadership and Recreation Board, as well as oversees operations, manages staff, develops programs, and manages budgets. Todd has been in this role for almost 6 years but has worked in the recreation industry for 28 years! Lately, he has been enjoying walking his dogs or riding bikes with his boys on the Seacoast Greenway (Rail Trail).🚲

Fun Fact: Todd started his recreation career as a work-study student, working at the front desk of Portsmouth Recreation’s JFK Center in 1998!🏋️

Meet Your Staff Member Monday!

Meet Nicole, our Senior Services Supervisor!☺️🎶🫶

Nicole manages the programs, staff, rentals, and building operations of the amazing hub for older adults, known as the Portsmouth Senior Activity Center. Did you know that there are over 1,700 members? Nicole has worked in this role for 4 years now but has been working with older adults for 17 years. Lately, she loves going to the gym, specifically group exercise programs such as cycling and cardio!🏃‍♀️

Fun Fact: Nicole was featured in the Newmarket newspaper at a Shaw Brothers concert as a child. She now helps the Portmsouth Music & the Arts Center host benefit concerts in memory of the brothers at the Senior Activity Center! What a full circle moment.🥹

Meet Jamie, the Connie Bean Recreation Supervisor!🥾😄🏒

Jamie has been in this position for almost 4 years but has worked in the recreation industry for 30 years. Aside from managing the Connie Bean Center, Jamie supervises youth sports and is responsible for teen programming. His favorite activity currently is disc golf because it’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors in a low stress environment.

Fun Fact: Jamie was in a hip hop dance group in the early 90s!🕺
