Your Radnor Township firefighters assisted Battle Run Fire District overnight with a very difficult and stubborn house fire. We were initially called about 12:30 am and responded with Quint 431 and our air trailer. The 2 crews were on scene until after 4:00 am this morning. At 5:45 am our crews were requested to responded back to the same address. The house had reignited. Quint 431 responded and again operated for several hours. Both times the Ariel device was used to safely reach the roof of the house to cut holes for ventilation and fire suppression.

We again want to thank the residents for supporting us. This has given us the ability to have highly specialized apparatus so we can assist our residents and neighbors in their time of need.

Special thanks to Delaware County EMS for some of the pictures of our crews in action.

Last night your Radnor Township firefighters assisted Battle Run Fire District with a working residential fire. Tanker 432 was initially called for water supply, however it was used in an engine capacity due to the large volume of fire. Our new air trailer, while not yet in service, made its maiden voyage. We filled approximately 20 SCBA bottles. The new trailer was utilized due to special fittings we were previously unable to fill.

This was our 63rd incident for 2026. A notable increase in volume from 2025. All of our responses this year have been answered by our personnel. We want to thank you for the continued support of the community we proudly serve and the board of trustee’s.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of retired Firefighter Dan Huffman, a dedicated public servant whose life was defined by service to others.

Dan proudly served this community and the surrounding communities as a firefighter for 50 years. Throughout his long and distinguished career, his commitment to the fire service was unwavering. He answered countless calls for help, mentored generations of firefighters, and exemplified what it means to serve with integrity, courage, and compassion.

Dan’s dedication to the fire service was extensive, and his impact will be felt for many years to come. He was not only a firefighter, but also a trusted colleague, mentor, and friend to many. His presence within our department and our community will be deeply missed.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Dan’s family, friends, and fellow firefighters during this difficult time. As a community, we honor his legacy and express our sincere gratitude for his decades of service and sacrifice.

As more of the unmentionable white stuff is starting to appear in the extended forecast… Please help us, by taking some time to make sure fire hydrants are easily accessible. Your hydrant could be the one that helps you or your neighbor.
