Check out these wooden book stands for our book displays on top of our bookshelves! Over 100 of these beauties were handcrafted by board member Deb Peale with wood donated by local residents Darcy & Henry Whittemore. We are able to display so many more books with these simple, attractive stands. Thanks, Deb, for all your time and hard work!

Stop by the Readfield Library table 12-2pm on Readfield Beach Opening Day today, Saturday June 13th, for a free book. Beach will be open 10am-6pm with lots of fun things happening all day, thanks to Readfield Recreation Association!

The Summer Reading Program at the Readfield Community Library will run for 8 weeks this summer from June 17 through August 17 and is open to all ages, children, teens, and adults. The theme this summer is "Plant a Seed, Read!"
Join us at 6-7pm on Wednesday June 17 for our Kickoff Event featuring Program Registration, Lawn Games, Make Your Own Ice Cream Sundaes, and Seed Planting. Readers log their minutes read on paper log sheets available at the library. Each hour read earns a free small prize or book (all donated), as well as a ticket for a chance at great raffle prizes from local businesses!

As always, we have some COOL (and LOCAL!) end-of-summer RAFFLE prizes for our Summer Reading Program:

Readfield Trails Committee members are celebrating today until 1:00pm at the Readfield Library and Post Office with make-your-own Trail Mix, snacks, a raffle, T-shirts for sale, and trail maps of Readfield's great trail systems! Stop by!

Please join us for an evening to learn the stories of Maine-based Holocaust survivors with Maine photographer and author Jack Montgomery as he discusses his new book, "From the Holocaust to Maine: Testimonies of the Survivors." Event is free and open to the public; hosted by the Library and The Gallery Camee Davidson. Copies of the book will be available for sale/signing after the event.
