We had an amazing time with our community at the 2nd Annual Nueces County Sheriff’s Office Safe Summer Kickoff! Our officers handed out summer beach balls, cool sunglasses, and squeezable water bottles while enjoying a great day of community engagement.

Our detectives also took the opportunity to educate community members on the importance of removing valuables from vehicles and always locking their cars to help prevent vehicle burglaries and thefts. As the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority reminds us: “IF YOU LIKE IT, LOCK IT.”

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this event a success!

Another successful meeting was held with an organization that we look forward to partnering with. Texas Recovery Centers Addiction Campuses can provide valuable support to the citizens of Robstown by offering professional treatment services for individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Their programs can help reduce substance abuse, lower crime related to narcotics and addiction, and improve the overall health and safety of the community. Through services such as medical detox, inpatient and outpatient treatment, counseling, relapse prevention, and mental health support, individuals are given an opportunity to recover and become productive members of society. In addition, partnerships between treatment centers and local law enforcement, courts, and community organizations can provide alternatives to incarceration for non-violent offenders dealing with substance abuse issues, ultimately strengthening families and improving quality of life within the community. If you know anyone that may need these types of services, please reach out to us.

Yesterday we had the honor of swearing in two Robstown Police Officers; both coming with a myriad of experience. Officers Celinda Tatum and Alexander Vallejo will hit the streets alongside our Field Training Officers as they learn the neighborhoods, get to know our citizens and share their experiences in an effort to make Robstown a safer city.

We also had the honor of awarding several officers for actions performed on-duty.

Officer Michael Olveda was awarded the Purple Heart for serious bodily injury sustained while affecting an arrest.

Officer Erik Fiedler was awarded his second Lifesaving Award; this time for saving a choking infants life.

Nueces County Precinct 5 Deputy Constable Michael McGrath was awarded the Lifesaving Award for saving a male subject's life after sustaining 3 life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Sgt. Michael Morin and Officer Danny Martinez received Certificates of Commendation for locating and removing 10 severely dehydrated illegal aliens that were hiding in a locked train tank container. Had it not been for the efforts of both officers, all 10 aliens would have eventually died from dehydration.

In 2025, the Robstown Police Department suffered our first LODD (Line of Duty Death) with the passing of Lt. Albert Stout. Lt. Stout honorably served the citizens of Robstown for 31 years and was truly the best of us.

Lt. Stout, the world is a much lesser place without you in it. Thank you for the many years of service you gave on behalf of keeping our citizens safe, you will never be forgotten.

Lt. Albert Stout

Robstown Police Department’s SRS leads to another arrest and recovery of a stolen vehicle.

Earlier today Robstown Police Officers received a ALPR Safety Alert regarding a stolen cargo van out of San Antonio in our city.

Officers quickly located the vehicle and conducted a felony stop. The driver 24 year old Jacob Marks out of Massachusetts was taken into custody without incident. The recovered stolen cargo van was secured for SAPD.

This incident highlights the importance of Robstown Police Department’s SRS (Secure Robstown Strategy) and proactive policing from our officers. We want our community to know that the role technology plays in helping law enforcement quickly identify stolen vehicles and other crimes is to make our community safer.

We remain committed to using every available resource to keep our community safe.

In a coordinated effort, Homeland Security Investigations ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Task Force, Nueces County Sheriff's Office, Robstown Police Department ICAC Detectives, and the Corpus Christi Police Department SWAT team executed a search warrant on the 500 block of East Ligustrum in Robstown, Texas.

Due to a significant law enforcement presence, we are asking the public to avoid the area at this time. Limited information is being released as the investigation remains ongoing.

We want to assure the community that the ICAC Task Force is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of our children, and there is no immediate threat to the general public.

UPDATE:

HSI ICAC agents arrested 30-year-old Daniel Flores for the promotion and possession of child po*******hy. Officers also detained 25-year-old Joel Luis Salinas and 22-year-old Isabella Garcia, who were occupants of the residence. During the detention, Salinas was found to have co***ne in his pocket.
CCPD SWAT Team members additionally observed, in plain view, a large bag of ma*****na inside the bedroom shared by Salinas and Garcia. Because the originating search warrant did not authorize a search for narcotics, the residence was secured while Robstown Police Department Organized Crime Unit detectives drafted a narcotics search warrant.

After the warrant was signed by a district judge, officers conducted a search of the residence. The search resulted in the discovery of approximately 70 grams of co***ne, 8 ounces of ma*****na, 161 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol, 26 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and five handguns (one of which was identified as a stolen CCPD firearm from 1987) located inside the suspects’ bedroom.

HSI ICAC is leading the investigation involving Flores, while the Robstown Police Department is leading the narcotics investigation involving Salinas and Garcia.
