🚔🇺🇸 TXDOT INDEPENDENCE DAY IMPAIRED DRIVING MOBILIZATION (IDM) 🇺🇸🚔

The Robstown Police Department will be participating in the Texas Department of Transportation’s Independence Day Impaired Driving Mobilization (IDM) campaign.

From June 19 through July 6, officers will be conducting increased traffic enforcement with a focus on identifying and removing impaired drivers from our roadways. Through education and enforcement, our goal is to reduce crashes and keep our community safe throughout the Independence Day holiday period.

If your holiday plans include alcohol, make arrangements for a designated driver, rideshare service, taxi, or another safe way home before you go out.

Remember:
✔️ Drive sober.
✔️ Buckle up.
✔️ Obey speed limits.
✔️ Never drink and drive.

Help us make this Independence Day a safe one for everyone. Together, we can prevent impaired-driving crashes and save lives.

⚠️ Weather/Flooding Advisory for the Robstown Area ⚠️

Due to heavy rainfall, flooding has been reported throughout the area, especially on the 600 block of West Avenue J in front of Robstown Early College High School.

If you do not need to travel, please stay home and avoid unnecessary travel.

We urge motorists not to attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don't Drown.

Please use caution and stay safe. Continue to monitor the Robstown Police Department page for updates regarding weather conditions, road closures, and public safety information. We will also provide frequent notifications through the Everbridge emergency alert system.

The Robstown Police Department hosted its annual Click It or Ticket campaign in Robstown, reminding Texas Drivers that seat belt and traffic safety is not just a seasonal message, but a year-round priority.

We had an amazing time with our community at the 2nd Annual Nueces County Sheriff’s Office Safe Summer Kickoff! Our officers handed out summer beach balls, cool sunglasses, and squeezable water bottles while enjoying a great day of community engagement.

Our detectives also took the opportunity to educate community members on the importance of removing valuables from vehicles and always locking their cars to help prevent vehicle burglaries and thefts. As the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority reminds us: “IF YOU LIKE IT, LOCK IT.”

Another successful meeting was held with an organization that we look forward to partnering with. Texas Recovery Centers Addiction Campuses can provide valuable support to the citizens of Robstown by offering professional treatment services for individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Their programs can help reduce substance abuse, lower crime related to narcotics and addiction, and improve the overall health and safety of the community. Through services such as medical detox, inpatient and outpatient treatment, counseling, relapse prevention, and mental health support, individuals are given an opportunity to recover and become productive members of society. In addition, partnerships between treatment centers and local law enforcement, courts, and community organizations can provide alternatives to incarceration for non-violent offenders dealing with substance abuse issues, ultimately strengthening families and improving quality of life within the community. From May 18 through May 31, 2026, the Robstown Police Department will be out in full force supporting TxDOT’s Click It or Ticket campaign.
