Please join us in congratulating Christa Knaak and Kerri Milner on their promotions to Associate Directors of Starbridge’s newly combined Family Advocacy and Education Department.
Christa and Kerri will support staff and help bring the two departments together. Each brings years of experience from one of the former departments, along with an understanding of our programs and the families we serve.
Christa first came to Starbridge seeking support for her own child and began volunteering in 2012. She later became a Family Education Specialist and, in 2024, Family Advocacy and Education Coordinator. Through advocacy, workshops, training, and outreach, she has helped families navigate school and disability systems, particularly the transition to adult services. Her work draws on both her experience as a parent and her years supporting other families.
Kerri has been with Starbridge for more than 23 years, beginning as an Intake Specialist before coordinating several Family Support Services programs and becoming FSS Reporting Manager in 2021. She has helped improve the department’s database and reporting tools, making them more useful for staff across programs. Her knowledge helps us understand our programs’ impact and identify where changes or additional resources could better support families.
