🍎🍂 Fall is in the air at Riverwalk!

With cooler temps finally rolling in, our Kindergarten Lions celebrated the season with our art teacher, Ms. Turner, the best way we know how: with paint, apples, and a whole lot of creativity! Students are learning about the elements of art, with a focus on color. Using just the three primary colors, they created their apple palette, mixing blue and yellow to make green. They drew their tree trunks with brown oil pastel (a first for our Kindergartners!), then used real apples as stamps to fill the branches with red, yellow, and green "fruit." The results? A room full of beautiful orchards and even more smiles. 🎨🍏

Hands-on, messy, and joyful. That's learning at Riverwalk. Welcome, fall! 🍁

Happy PTO Appreciation Day!

Today we celebrate the parents, guardians, and volunteers of our Riverwalk Academy PTO, who give so much of their time and energy to make our school a better place for every student.

From staff appreciation to building our school culture, our PTO shows up again and again for our students and staff. This week, our Sunshine Committees treated faculty and staff to an apple bar, made possible through PTO funding. It was a sweet reminder of how much this community cares for the people who serve our students every day. Much of their work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every hallway and classroom.

To our PTO officers, our Sunshine Committee, and every volunteer who has helped along the way: thank you. Your partnership makes a real difference, and we're grateful for all you do for our Lions.

Last night we made up a holiday, and you all showed up with coffee. Our teachers were thrilled. Our principals were jealous. So here we are. (Kidding. Mostly.)

Tomorrow is National Bring Your Principal a Gift Card Day.
It's even less official than today's.
The coffee thing worked, so we're trying our luck.
Tell the others.

Our Safety Patrol members work hard every morning and afternoon to keep our Lions safe, and their trusty cones are right there with them. So we launched something new: the Adopt Your Cone program!

First up: Safety Patrol member Cori, who took Cone 6 home for a little bonding time. According to the family report, it was a "low-key" night, but you'd never know it. Cone 6:

📚 Sat in on tutoring
🏐 Tagged along for volleyball practice
📖 Got in some light reading
💃 Hit the floor for Just Dance
🧺 Helped with chores (laundry room supervisor!)
😴 Got tucked in for a good night's sleep

Cone 6 also came back with a little makeover: lashes, a fuzzy lavender hat, and a unicorn shirt. 🦄💜

Thank you, Cori, for your service on Safety Patrol and for showing Cone 6 such a good time! Who's next? 👀
