AUGUST CRASH TOTAL- 53

⚠️ The Top 4 Crash Causes:
Failure to Yield (16%)- Drivers pulling out too early at intersections or misjudging gaps.
Improper Lane Use/Changes (16%)- Blind-spot collisions and sudden lane changes without signaling.
Improper Turns (13%)- Cutting off oncoming traffic or turning into the wrong lane.
Following Too Close (10%)- Tailgating that leads to rear-end collisions when traffic stops suddenly.

Just four driving habits caused over half (55%) of all accidents. Simply slowing down, checking blind spots twice before shifting lanes, and giving the car ahead of you an extra vehicle-length of space can drastically cut down these numbers next month.

📢 We Want to Hear From You!

The Rolla Police Department is committed to providing the highest level of service possible, and one of the best ways we can do that is by listening to the people we serve.

Today, we are launching our Community Engagement Survey, and we are asking everyone who lives, works, or spends time in Rolla to take a few minutes to share your thoughts. The survey takes approximately five minutes to complete, but the impact of your feedback will last much longer.

Your input is critical to helping us better understand the needs, concerns, and expectations of our community. Law enforcement is most effective when it works in partnership with the people it serves. We fully understand that this profession is nearly impossible without the trust, support, and involvement of our community. That is why it is so important that you have a voice in our vision and direction.

Whether you've had positive interactions with our officers, have suggestions for improvement, or simply want to share what matters most to you, we want to hear from you.

📝 The survey will remain open for the next three weeks.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and help shape the future of policing in our community.

What a great evening for a great cause! 💙

The Rolla Police Department was proud to be part of the Pump for Autism event at Mobil On The Run, along with the Phelps County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri S&T Police Department. We had a lot of fun getting out there, pumping some gas, visiting with everyone, and helping raise money for a great cause.

A big thank you to the ladies at Mobil On The Run for hosting this event and inviting us to be a part of it. We truly appreciate everything you do for our community and for giving us the opportunity to come out, have some fun, and support such an important cause.

Thank you as well to the Phelps County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri S&T Police Department for showing up and being part of the evening. It was great seeing our local law enforcement agencies come together for something that benefits our community.

And finally, a HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by and donated. Whether you donated a little or a lot, every bit helped, and without the generosity of our community, this event would not have been the success it was.
