Pecos Valley Public Services Medical Rescue and Community EMS agency We respond to emergencies if requested from local, state or federal agencies.

Urgent services to the community are offered for situations that require expedited attention but do not present an immediate threat to life or health. Running hot-weather patrols on the streets. We provide services to tourists, residents and vulnerable communities. Cold water, electrolytes, bus tokens, medical checks and, if requested, rides to the cooling center. Some minor injuries, one emergency transport to the hospital so far.

Training day. How to draw up meds from a vial? Do you know that a single simulated training dose of .. say Epinephrine can cost $5 or more? Amazon sells empty vials for cents. So, we filled them up with water. Not exactly the same consistency, but close enough for training. And A LOT cheaper.

We will be providing medcial services in the cooling center and on the street. It is literally "cool" that FNB and us are able to provide those services. Everybody can go, everybody can call.

So cool. We are a small agency with little money. But we have to follow the same protocol as any other EMS agency. That means: A lot of paperwork. Bigger agencies have expensive software packages to take care of that. But we have .... Michaela. She developed (and donated) a complete set of apps allowing us to do not only all the paper work, but also gives us access to protocols and more. This makes things much easier for our responders and patients. And - no. This is not a pencil. It's a stylus for the e-paper device.

During our carnival standby, we earned at least 30 big smiles and we are counting every one of them. Our volunteers assisted guests with a variety of medical issues, including falls, heat-related concerns, and bee and wasp stings. Most were handled on scene, though one patient’s condition was serious enough to require transport to the hospital. Our team also provided additional on-scene care, including a minor procedure, and even continued assisting with another patient care later at the ER. A big thank-you to all of our volunteers who gave their time and energy to support the event. We are also grateful for the generous support from Moore's Greater Shows and for the assistance of the event organizers. We are proud to help keep our community events safe.

Via live press briefing, Lincoln County Officials have confirmed the medivac- fixed wing plane was located, crashed in the Capital Mountains, and all 4 on board are deceased.

PLEASE GOD - NO. A local medical flight with a local medical crew is missing in rural Lincoln County. Lincoln County reports a fire in the area. We have friends among the crew. These are local medics, pilots, nurses. Pray for them. And let's hope for the best.

Yesterday night we spent hours in the ER to comfort a crisis patient after removal from the carnival. Patient was from out of state, we kept parents informed and assisted the super friendly nurses and physicians trying to get patient to calm down. For us, it doesn't stop with a ride, an ambulance or law enforcement intervention. We don't get paid, we don't get city support, we're on our own. But we'll be there for anybody who needs us. That makes a difference.

Pecos Valley Public Services has received repeated questions about whether we support or endorse a candidate in the Chaves County Sheriff’s race. As a 501(c)(3) public charity, PVPS may not support, oppose, or favor any candidate for public office. As a first responder agency, we also do not believe it is our role to comment on an ongoing election. PVPS has worked well with the Chaves County Sheriff’s Department over the past several years, and we value that cooperation. We look forward to continuing a professional working relationship with the Sheriff’s Department after the election, regardless of who serves as Sheriff.
