PROJECT 2000 brings together departments separated by hundreds—and sometimes thousands—of miles. In moments like this, state lines disappear and one united correctional family remains.

Different uniforms. Different departments. One promise to honor our fallen and take care of our own.

“This is what family looks like.” ❤️

Secretary V Allison Inman of Bill Johnson Correctional Center in Oklahoma is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. After enduring chemotherapy and a double mastectomy, she continues to travel to Oklahoma City for follow-up care, radiation treatments and physical rehabilitation.

Allison is also a wife and mother of three children, ages 12 to 16. Following a referral from Warden Becky Guffy, CPOF was honored to provide catastrophic assistance to help Allison and her family during this difficult journey.

Deputy Warden Scotty Cox presented the assistance check to Allison on behalf of CPOF and our members. Warden Guffy shared that the moment brought Allison—and everyone around her—to tears.

Allison, please know that your correctional family is standing beside you. We are sending strength, encouragement and heartfelt wishes for continued healing. 💙

Forty years ago, U.S. Probation Officer Thomas Eric Gahl left his Indianapolis office to conduct what should have been a routine home contact. He never returned.

On September 22, 1986, Officer Gahl was ambushed and killed in the line of duty. He was 38 years old and had served the U.S. Probation Office for the Southern District of Indiana for 11½ years.

A United States Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran, correctional professional, devoted husband and father, Officer Gahl was remembered for his fairness, kindness and commitment to serving others.

His death brought national attention to the dangers faced by probation officers and helped influence lasting advancements in officer-safety training, equipment and field practices. His legacy continues to help protect generations of officers he never had the opportunity to meet.

On the 40th anniversary of his End of Watch, we remember Officer Gahl, honor his family and recognize a federal probation community that has carried his name and legacy forward for four decades.

The wait is over.

CPOF is proud to present the official music video for The Same Promise—a tribute to the correctional professionals who serve, the families who stand beside them, the survivors whose strength inspires us and the fallen whose service will never be forgotten.

Although our uniforms, departments and experiences may differ, we are connected by the same commitment: to stand beside one another in times of need, to honor those who came before us and to ensure that no member of our correctional family faces tragedy alone.

We extend our sincere gratitude to every department, agency, honor guard team, correctional professional and family who contributed imagery to this video. Your photographs and footage allowed us to tell a story that belongs to all of us. Thank you for trusting us with these meaningful moments and helping bring The Same Promise to life.

We hope this video captures what corrections means to those who serve—and to the families who serve alongside them.

Save the date, CPOF family—PROJECT 2000 ###VIII is headed to Omaha, Nebraska!

Join us June 10–13, 2027, as we come together to remember our fallen heroes, surround their surviving families with support and celebrate the strength of the correctional community.

Omaha is the next stop, but the mission continues far beyond one city. Providence, San Antonio and San Diego are waiting on the journey ahead.

More details about PROJECT 2000 ###VIII will be shared as they become available. For now, mark your calendars—we look forward to seeing you in Omaha!
