This week’s America250 CANstruction spotlight: the National Park Service column at the Viridian Event Center (West Jordan Library).
Built with 1,430 cans, this sculpture honors the National Park Service mission to conserve the nation’s natural and cultural heritage for future generations. Inspired by Utah’s landscapes, the design rises like a column of civilization, with colors and patterns that reflect the land, its history, and the people connected to it.
Created by MHTN + Resolut + KPFF.
See it in person at:
Salt Lake County Viridian Event Center (West Jordan Library)
8030 S 1825 W, West Jordan
This Friday, June 5, it’s also the First Friday Concert at the Viridian Center — a perfect opportunity to check out the sculpture before enjoying the event.
As with all CANstruction displays, every can will be donated to Utah Food Bank at the end of the exhibit.
Don’t forget to vote for your favorite sculpture and donate if you can. Donation bins are available at all locations, or you can give online at slco.to/250.
