New Bear Lake guzzler alert! 🚨

Installed along a high-traffic wildlife corridor near the lake, this new guzzler (a dedicated water source for wildlife) was funded by Utah Division of State Parks as a voluntary effort to support local wildlife alongside marina operations. With expanding roads, tourism and residential development putting pressure on the area, projects like this help keep wildlife thriving. 🦌💧

We signed the guzzler like a yearbook, wishing the best to all our future wild visitors! Special shout out to Rich County for filling the guzzler immediately so wildlife won’t have to wait for rain to take a drink.

Have you ever been to a star party? ✨

Star parties are among our Utah State Parks’ most popular events, offering a chance to experience the night sky in a whole new way.

Bring a camping chair and a blanket and join us under the stars. At some events, park rangers will have telescopes available for visitors to explore the night sky. At others, rangers may share fun information about what you can see overhead and answer questions about the stars, planets and constellations.

How long did it take you to spot it? 👀

This photo was taken at Red Fleet State Park, where you can spend the day boating, fishing, camping, or just hanging out by the reservoir.

Red Fleet is also home to dinosaur tracks in the sandstone cliffs overlooking the water. They’re about 100 million years old.

So you can spend the whole day looking at the water or looking at dinosaur tracks.

Both are acceptable.

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

This Labor Day, we’re especially thankful for the hardworking people who make our state parks possible.

From park rangers and maintenance crews to office staff, volunteers, and everyone in between, so much goes on behind the scenes to keep our parks safe, welcoming, and ready for visitors.

We appreciate all the hard work you put in to care for these places and the people who visit them. If you’re out at a state park today, take a moment to thank the staff you see for all they do! 🌲❤️

THREE DAY WEEKEND AHEAD!!!

Looking for a great way to celebrate Labor Day weekend? Holiday weekends are a great time to visit your favorite state park, but planning ahead makes all the difference!

Expect warm weather, lively recreation areas, and larger crowds than usual. Here are a few important safety guidelines to keep in mind for a smooth weekend:

💧 Stay Hydrated: Bring extra water for everyone in your group and drink frequently, even if it doesn’t feel scorching hot.

☀️ Sun Protection: Plan ahead for heat and sun exposure—UV rays can be intense even on partially cloudy days.

🛟 Wear a Life Jacket: Always wear a life jacket when on or near the water. Conditions can change quickly, and safety comes first.

🛞 Wear a Helmet: Heading out on the OHV trails? Protect your head and gear up with a proper helmet every time you ride an ATV or UTV.

🌩️ Watch the Weather & Flash Floods: Conditions can change in an instant. Always check local forecasts, be alert for flash flood warnings, and NEVER enter slot canyons if rain is anywhere in the forecast.

🧘 Pack Your Patience: Extra crowds mean extra wait times. A little flexibility and kindness toward staff and fellow visitors go a long way!
