Brauchle Elementary Brauchle Elementary is located in Northside ISD. It first opened it's doors in 1990 as the 34th ele NAMESAKE: HENRY T. At age 9 he first learned to speak English.

BRAUCHLE

Born in a log cabin in Guadalupe County, Texas to German-speaking parents, Henry Theodore Brauchle began school in Comal County. By age 20, he was clerking at Mumme's General Store in San Antonio and attending Alamo Business College where he studied bookkeeping and penmanship. After earning a teaching certificate, he taught at Agua Dulce in Ditto, Texas for a term before moving to Helote

s School in what is now Northside Independent School District. During summers, he continued his education at Peacock and Brackenridge Normal Schools. Brauchle soon met Eleanor Jane “Schatzie" Robinson, and after a year-long courtship, presented her with a piano as an engagement gift. The couple resided in one room of the two-room Helotes School. Because Helotes was a German community, none of Schoolmaster Brauchle's 48 students spoke English. The Brauchles purchased a 200-acre farm near Helotes School and had 10 children. Brauchle played violin and made musical instruments by hand. In addition, he formed a family orchestra. A pillar of the community, the Helotes teacher helped found Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, and served as Helotes School Trustee, election judge, and owner/operator for the Helotes telephone system. He farmed, ran a dairy, raised livestock and kept an extensive apiary. His grandson, Charles Kuentz, also is a musician, educator and NISD namesake.

As we prepare to close another incredible chapter at Brauchle this week, we want to take a moment to THANK our amazing families for the strong partnership, support, and love you have shown throughout this school year. 💙🐾

Our Brauchle Cougars have grown SO much academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally, and we could not be more proud of each and every one of them. Watching our students learn, lead, smile, persevere, and shine this year has truly been a blessing. We hope you have felt the genuine love and care we have for your children and your families every single day.

A HUGE thank you to our incredible Brauchle staff for loving our students so fiercely and always going above and beyond for kids and families. Your passion, dedication, and heart are what make Brauchle such a magical and special place. 💙✨

Brauchle is more than a school — it is a family, a second home, and a place where unforgettable memories are made together. As we head into our final week, we are excited to celebrate with our students, create even more joyful moments, and FINISH STRONG together! 🎉☀️

Be sure to check out our fun spirit days for the last week of school! From Favorite Team Day and Tropical Tuesday to Favorite Vacation T-Shirt Day and our Last Day Celebration, we cannot wait to see our Cougars dressed up, smiling big, and making memories together! ❤️🌴😎

🎓🐾 WELCOME HOME, BRAUCHLE COUGARS! 🐾🎓

Today was such a special day as we welcomed back our former Brauchle Cougars for their Senior Walk! It’s hard to believe these amazing seniors were once the little ones skipping through our hallways, singing in classrooms, laughing with friends, shedding a few tears, and making countless memories in the place they once called home. 💙

To see them walk our halls one last time as the Class of 2026 was truly emotional and inspiring. We are beyond proud of all they have accomplished and cannot wait to watch them continue making their mark on the world. 🌎✨

Cougars, you truly Started Strong, Stayed Strong, and Finished Strong! 💪🏼🐾 Your Brauchle family will always be cheering you on every step of the way.

🎓🐾 Tomorrow is our Brauchle Senior Walk for the Class of 2026! We can’t wait to welcome back our former Cougars and celebrate all they have accomplished! 💙❤️

We’ll have a cereal bar because we are CEREALOUSLY proud of our graduates! 🥣✨ Doughnuts, doughnut holes, and fruit will also be available as we celebrate these amazing students! We will also have a special keepsake for our Seniors to take with them. 🎁

Seniors, please wear your graduation gowns and caps! 🎓

Our little Cougars showed up BIG with messages full of love, encouragement, and belief for our STAAR testers… and WOW, you can feel the Cougar pride! This is what it’s all about—lifting each other up and showing that we are stronger together!

Due to O’Connor HS having AP Exams on the original May 8th date, we have moved Brauchle’s Senior Walk to Wednesday, May 13th so we can celebrate our seniors the right way!

HOLY MOLY, BRAUCHLE FAM… OUR COUGAR CODERZ DID THAT!!!!!

Our incredible Brauchle Robotics Team brought the fire, the focus, and the full-on Cougar grit and earned 2nd Place Champion’s Award at the Discovery Qualifier!!! 🥈🏆

This award isn’t just about robot performance — it celebrates a team that embodies the entire FIRST LEGO League experience… innovation, teamwork, core values, excellence, and heart. And let me tell you… our Cougars showed UP and showed OUT!

Their resiliency never wavered.
Their teamwork never broke.
Their determination never stopped.

To say we are proud is an absolute understatement. They represented Brauchle with excellence, confidence, and unstoppable Cougar spirit. 💙
