Brauchle Elementary

Brauchle Elementary Brauchle Elementary is located in Northside ISD. It first opened it's doors in 1990 as the 34th ele NAMESAKE: HENRY T. At age 9 he first learned to speak English.

BRAUCHLE

Born in a log cabin in Guadalupe County, Texas to German-speaking parents, Henry Theodore Brauchle began school in Comal County. By age 20, he was clerking at Mumme's General Store in San Antonio and attending Alamo Business College where he studied bookkeeping and penmanship. After earning a teaching certificate, he taught at Agua Dulce in Ditto, Texas for a term before moving to Helotes School in what is now Northside Independent School District. During summers, he continued his education at Peacock and Brackenridge Normal Schools. Brauchle soon met Eleanor Jane “Schatzie" Robinson, and after a year-long courtship, presented her with a piano as an engagement gift. The couple resided in one room of the two-room Helotes School. Because Helotes was a German community, none of Schoolmaster Brauchle's 48 students spoke English. The Brauchles purchased a 200-acre farm near Helotes School and had 10 children. Brauchle played violin and made musical instruments by hand. In addition, he formed a family orchestra. A pillar of the community, the Helotes teacher helped found Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, and served as Helotes School Trustee, election judge, and owner/operator for the Helotes telephone system. He farmed, ran a dairy, raised livestock and kept an extensive apiary. His grandson, Charles Kuentz, also is a musician, educator and NISD namesake.

🏈🥜 WOWZERS, BRAUCHLE COUGARS — YOU SHOWED UP! 🥜🏈

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our amazing Brauchle families who donated to the OC Peanut Butter Bowl! Because of your generosity, we collected an incredible 889 containers of peanut butter to help support families in need! ❤️

And WOW — we had some serious friendly competition! 🏆 Mrs. Beason’s 5th grade class brought in a WHOPPING 366 containers, while Ms. Clardy’s 4th grade class came in strong with an AMAZING 204 containers! These two classes were in a tight race and certainly showed their Cougar spirit! 🐾

What an incredible way for our Brauchle community to come together, support OC, and make a difference for families who need it most.

To every student, family, and staff member who donated, encouraged others, and helped make this drive such a success — THANK YOU! We are so proud of the way our Cougars continue to SHOW UP for others! 💙❤️

889 containers. One amazing community. One BIG impact. 🥜❤️

Thank you, families, for helping us have such a fabulous, smooth, and joyful start to the school year! Our teachers and staff spent the week building meaningful relationships, establishing strong structures and routines, and creating opportunities for students to have fun while learning.

Our campus was filled with so many smiles, hugs, laughter, and excitement from our Cougars—and we absolutely loved every minute of it! Seeing our students happy, connected, and excited to learn is truly the best! 🌟

Thank you for an amazing (almost) first full week of school! What a wonderful week it has been. We truly have the very best students, families, and staff—and today was another beautiful reminder of just how special our Brauchle community is. 💙

During dismissal, a parent’s car stalled in front of the campus, causing a traffic jam. Without hesitation, Mr. Garza, one of our longtime Brauchle parents, stopped and offered to help in any way he could. After picking up his son, he even circled back to assist—and helped get her vehicle started!

Thank you, Mr. Garza! We truly appreciate you helping another parent and getting her vehicle started. Moments like this remind us that Brauchle is more than a school—we are a family that shows up for one another.

We would also like to thank everyone for being so patient, understanding, and flexible during dismissal today. We are incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such a caring and supportive community! 💙🐾

🏁🐾 BRAUCHLE COUGARS… WE ARE READY TO ROLL! 🐾🏁

WOW, Cougars!!! What an AMAZING turnout we had for Meet the Teacher! ❤️ Seeing every single one of you—the BIG smiles, the hugs, the excitement, and the incredible energy—was truly THE BEST! Our hearts are FULL! 🥹🐾

And now… MONDAY IS ALMOST HERE! 🏎️💨
The FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL is right around the corner, and we seriously cannot wait to welcome our Cougars back! 🎉

Our teachers and staff have poured so much time, love, and heart into preparing for this school year. We want that first walk through the doors to be something special—a CORE MEMORY for your child as they begin another amazing year at Brauchle! ❤️🏁

📣 A FEW FRIENDLY FIRST-WEEK REMINDERS:

⏰🏁 SCHOOL START TIME — READY, SET, LEARN!
Our first bell rings at 7:35 AM, and the school day officially begins at 7:45 AM!

Beginning Tuesday, parents who are walking their child to class will need to be on campus no later than 7:40 AM. This will give you enough time to walk your child to the classroom, say those last hugs and goodbyes, and allow our Cougars to be in their seats and READY before the 7:45 AM tardy bell. ❤️

We want to make certain that EVERY COUGAR is ready to begin learning at 7:45 AM! Every minute matters, and we appreciate your help getting our students off to a strong start each morning! 🐾📚🏁

🐾 FIRST DAY WALK-IN
Parents are welcome to walk their children all the way to their classrooms on the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL—no badge needed! ❤️

Beginning the second day, we will start using our Fast Passes. Please make sure you have:
✔️ Completed the Fast Pass document
✔️ Had your ID scanned in the front office

⚠️ Everyone will need a NEW ID scan this year for safety purposes.

🥞🍎 BREAKFAST & LUNCH WITH YOUR COUGAR
The first week of school is all about building relationships, routines, structures, and consistency for our students. Our teachers will be helping students learn and practice breakfast and lunch expectations throughout the week.

Parents will be able to join students for breakfast and/or lunch beginning the SECOND WEEK OF SCHOOL. ❤️

🚗 Dismissal-
Please be patient with us during dismissal, especially during the first week. Our #1 priority is making sure EVERY SINGLE COUGAR is accounted for and gets home safely! 🐾❤️

🚘 Please have your car tag ready to help keep our dismissal line moving smoothly.

🚩 For families picking up at the flagpole across the street, we will not begin entering numbers until 3:05 PM—and it may be a little later during the first week as everyone learns the routine.

We promise…the first few days may take a little longer, but each day we will get faster, smoother, and stronger! 🏁💨

Yesterday was simply MAGICAL! ✨💙🐾

Watching our Cougars grow throughout the year and seeing just how much they have blossomed academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally is truly one of the greatest honors. From the first day of school to today, our students have shown resilience, kindness, leadership, and Cougar pride every single step of the way.

To our amazing families — THANK YOU for believing in us, supporting us, and helping us build such a strong and positive bridge between home and school. That partnership means everything. Together, we have created a special place where students feel loved, supported, challenged, and celebrated.

Please know that we truly love our students and our community and always strive to do what is best for our kids. Brauchle is more than just a school… it is family. 💕

As summer begins, we hope you take time to slow down, be safe, laugh often, live in the moment, and make those priceless core memories with your families that will last a lifetime. ☀️🌴💛
