One conversation can make a difference, but ongoing conversations can help make safety part of everyday life. 🧡

Thank you to Cable Elementary and their Communities In Schools coordinator for inviting ChildSafe to participate in their Enrichment Day! We had the pleasure of engaging students from kindergarten through 5th grade in an interactive My Body Safety Rules activity.

Students explored who they can turn to as trusted adults and how to recognize the signals their bodies can give them when they feel unsafe. Each student also received a My Body Safety Rules bookmark and coloring sheet to help continue the conversation at home.

We’re grateful to partners like Cable Elementary who make prevention education part of the school experience and help children build the skills and confidence to speak up and ask for help.

Ready to bring conversations like these to your community? ChildSafe offers training and educational opportunities for youth, parents, volunteers, and youth-serving professionals. Our Cardboard Kids body safety materials are also available to download on our website, making it easy to incorporate prevention conversations throughout the school year.

Changes in mood, behavior, school performance, sleep, or interest in everyday activities can be an opportunity to check in.

For children who have experienced abuse, trauma can affect emotional well-being in ways that aren’t always easy to recognize. A trusted, supportive adult can help a child feel heard, supported, and safe.

You don’t have to have all the answers. Sometimes, being there is where it starts.

Meet more of the team behind ChildSafe’s MDT response! 🤝

Each member of our Partner Relations Department plays a unique role in strengthening collaboration across our multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Today, we’re highlighting four team members whose work helps keep our response connected and focused on the needs of children and families:

🧩 Texas Family Code Coordinator: Haylee Mauch

Together, these roles help strengthen communication, support coordination, and ensure children and families can access the services they need throughout the child advocacy response.

Every role within Partner Relations contributes to the bigger picture. By working alongside our MDT partners, this team helps bring together the information, resources, and professionals needed to provide a coordinated, child-centered response.

Strong MDTs are built on strong partnerships, trust, and intentional leadership. 🤝

Meet Angelique Morales, Director of Partner Relations, and Jen Pacheco, Partner Relations Manager, two leaders who help keep ChildSafe’s multidisciplinary team (MDT) connected, collaborative, and focused on a shared goal: supporting children and families.

Their work helps bring professionals together across disciplines through:

At the Harvey E. Najim Children & Family Center, ChildSafe walks alongside children and families from hurt toward healing. Every day, we get to see kids grow stronger and start to trust and smile again. As the only Children's Advocacy Center in Bexar County, we bring forensic interviews, therapy, family advocacy, and prevention education together on one campus.

What does it take to create a coordinated response when a child experiences abuse?

🧡 It takes a team.

When a child experiences abuse, no single professional or agency can do it alone.

At ChildSafe, our Partner Relations & Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Enhancement Department works to strengthen the relationships and collaboration at the heart of our community’s response.

Our MDT brings together professionals from across disciplines—including law enforcement, Child Protective Services, prosecution, medical and mental health providers, and victim advocacy—to coordinate efforts and keep the needs of the child at the center.

Each professional brings a unique area of expertise. Collaboration is what brings those pieces together.

That’s the work our Partner Relations & MDT Enhancement team supports every day.
