What is BOY Testing?

Over the two weeks, students will participate in the NWEA MAP Growth assessments in 1- 5 Reading and Math as well as 5th Grade Science. These assessments help us understand each child's current academic strengths and areas for growth at the beginning of the school year.

MAP Growth is an adaptive assessment, which means the questions adjust based on student responses. This allows us to gather accurate information about each student's learning needs and develop instruction that supports their individual growth.

The results are not used for grades. Instead, they provide valuable data that teachers use to set goals, monitor progress, and plan targeted instruction throughout the year.

We encourage students to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and do their best on each assessment. Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child's success.

COMMUNITY NOTIFICATIONS OF LOCKDOWN DRILL

Dear SMCP Families,

As we maintain our focus on campus safety and security, we wanted to inform you that we will be conducting a LOCKDOWN drill during the week of Monday, September 14, 2026. We want to ensure that all students, staff, and visitors are prepared in the event of any emergency, including what actions should be taken during a LOCKDOWN. Practice of emergency procedures through drills and training can reduce confusion.

We will not conduct live scenarios during our LOCKDOWN drill, meaning there will be no loud simulations or sounds.

“DRILL IN PROGRESS” signage will be posted at the front entrance to the school building.

NO VISITORS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER OR EXIT THE BUILDING DUIRNG THE DURATION OF THE LOCKDOWN DRILL.

Estimadas familias de SMCP, Mientras nos mantenemos enfocados en mantener la seguridad de nuestro campus, queremos informarles que vamos a estar realizando una práctica de nuestro simulacro de CIERRE DE EMERGENCIA durante la semana de lunes, septiembre 14 de 2026. Queremos asegurarnos de que todos los estudiantes, personal y visitantes estén preparados en el evento de una emergencia, incluyendo que acciones se deben tomar durante un CIERRE DE EMERGENCIA. Practicar los procedimientos de emergencia a través de simulacros y entrenamientos puede reducir confusión.

No vamos a estar conduciendo ningún escenario en vivo durante nuestro simulacro de CIERRE DE EMERGENCIA, lo que significa que no van a haber simulaciones de sonidos de alto volumen, rondas de disparos vacíos o sonidos explosivos.
