Celebrating Juneteenth ๐๐คโค๏ธ
As we prepare to observe Juneteenth, Alameda County Public Health Department honors the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black communities while commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.
Juneteenth is a time to reflect on our nationโs history, celebrate Black culture and achievements, and recommit to advancing equity, justice, and opportunities for all.
Health equity means creating communities where every person has the opportunity to thrive. We recognize that understanding our history is essential to building a healthier, more inclusive future.
As we recognize this important day, we remain committed to uplifting the voices, experiences, and well-being of Black communities throughout Alameda County.
