⚠️ PARENT & COMMUNITY AWARENESS ⚠️
The Seguin Police Department wants parents and guardians to be aware of concerning online activity involving a nihilistic violent extremist (NVE) network that may be attempting to target or influence youth in our community.
These online groups may use social media, gaming platforms, messaging apps, or private group chats to contact, manipulate, threaten, exploit, or encourage harmful behavior among young people.
Some names associated with these types of online networks and communities include 764 Network, CULT, No Lives Matter, and True Crime Community (TCC). Content and interactions associated with these networks can be violent, threatening, exploitative, and sexual in nature.
We strongly encourage parents and guardians to:
📢Talk openly with your children about who they are communicating with online.
📢Be familiar with the apps, gaming platforms, and social media accounts they use.
📢Watch for concerning messages, threats, requests for personal information, or attempts to move conversations into private or encrypted chats.
📢Encourage your child to tell a trusted adult if someone online makes them uncomfortable, threatens them, or pressures them to participate in harmful activity.
📢Do not engage with suspicious individuals or groups. Save screenshots or other information that may assist investigators and report the activity.
Parents, please stay involved and keep an eye on your child's online activity. Online threats and exploitation can have very real consequences.
If you believe your child has been contacted, threatened, exploited, or targeted by one of these groups, please contact the Seguin Police Department or your local law enforcement agency. If there is an immediate threat to someone’s safety, call 911.
