Mercer County Director of Veterans Affairs, Bernard "BJ" Grenier, addresses a group of comrades at the monthly informational Veterans' breakfast. The meeting is held at 9 am on the first Saturday of every month at the Hermitage Golden Corral.

Photo of some of the members from the Erie Healing Waters Program during their time out for a quick lunch break. The group had a great day trout fishing on Sandy Creek, April 15th, at the Conservancy located in Polk, Pa. Mercer County's DAV Chapter #55 is proud to be able to help sponsor this veteran's annual event.

Mercer County DAV Chapter #55
member, Don Ramsey, presents a $3000 donation check to Lisa Gibson and some of our local veterans, Saturday March 28th during the 3rd annual Jim Gibson memorial fund raiser, held at the Hickory VFW Normandy banquet center in Hermitage PA. Jim and Lisa founded the Trails End Conservency located on Rt 18 in Hermitage, Pa. Their dedication to our veterans and our local community through their various programs has not gone unnoticed. Thank you Lisa.

With help and donations from numerous local organizations, Freedom Hunters.org sponsored a once in a life time pheasant hunt for approximately 30 veterans last Saturday, March 14th, 2026.
The group started their day with coffee, sandwiches and donuts at the Linesville VFW Post 7842. After a brief introduction with safety instructions from Program lead, Kory Slye, the hunters and volunteer dog handlers were transported to the hunting grounds located in Hartstown Pa.

Don Ramsey presents Benjamin Dolby, Program Lead for the North West Pennsylvania Project Healing Waters, a donation in the sum of $3000, from the members of DAV Mercer County Chapter #55.
Project Healing Waters is a wonderful organization that is designed to help veterans cope with their disabilities by teaching them about fly fishing, fly tying, and rod building. Occasionally the members are also given the opportunity to go on guided fishing trips to various locations across the United States. Many thanks go out to the volunteers that take time out of their day to help our veterans develop these new skills.
